Şengal Autonomous Administration: transferring ISIS families to Mosul is serious threat

The Council of Democratic Autonomous Administration in Şengal (MXDŞ) issued a statement regarding the transfer of ISIS mercenaries' families to Al-Jada camp, south of Nineveh.

The statement indicated that no consideration was given to the fact that ISIS attacked Mosul in 2014, and one can describe Mosul as a source of ISIS movements. Today, we see families of ISIS mercenaries returning to Mosul without paying attention to security affairs, and this poses a security threat to the region.

He added that the Ministry of Immigration, the Iraqi government and the United Nations should have been more vigilant, and stop the transfer of these families, warning that these families undermine the security of the region and endanger its stability, especially the security of the Yazidi community.

The council noted that the Autonomous Administration of Şengal does not oppose the return of Iraqi citizens to their homeland, but they are against those who supported ISIS and had a hand in the massacre of the Yazidi people, and called on public opinion not to remain silent in the face of this step.

The statement of the Democratic Autonomous Administration in Şengal also called on the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the United Nations to stop returning ISIS families to Iraq until appropriate security preparations are taken.

It is noteworthy that a hundred families of ISIS mercenaries were transferred on May 24 to Iraq, from Al-Hol camp in the areas of the Democratic Autonomous Administration in North and East Syria, in turn, the Iraqi government transferred those families to Jada camp, south of Nineveh Governorate.
