The Turkish occupation state has continued its attacks against the legitimate defense zones since April 23, amid heroic resistance by the fighters of the People's Defense Forces and the Free Women Units – Star, while the Turkish occupation army is resorting to advanced technologies after it failed to advance on land.

In the second part of the interview that Hawar news agency held with the Honorary President of the Peoples' Democratic Party, Ertugrul Kurkçu, he talked about the Turkish occupation's attacks against the legitimate defense zones, the statements of Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) and the Kurdistan Communities Union's commands, in addition to the military operations carried out by the People's Defense Forces and the Air Defense Forces against the Turkish occupation army's attacks, and these attacks' effect on the Middle East.

Since April 23, the Turkish occupation army has been launching continuous attacks against the legitimate defense zones, using its most advanced techniques. What is your assessment of this attack, and of Guerrilla's resistance?

In the recent period, the Turkish state has exercised great pressure and repression on the masses, with the aim of eliminating the Kurdish people's struggle inside Turkish territory. However, many factors and causes obliged Turkey to abandon these methods, including the international situation in general, as well as developments in the Middle East, the general situation in Syria, the power vacuum in Iraq, as well as many other developments, among them those related to the military and combat capabilities of the Turkish army, but in exchange and to find a solution to this problem in Northern Kurdistan, it began to intervene and target the rest of Kurdistan, and work to spread war in all parts of Kurdistan, considering this strategy appropriate.

'The Turkish state is seeking to end the military operation as soon as possible'

In this way, the Turkish state confirmed the suspicions of the Kurdish people. Kurdistan is divided into four parts, but its destiny is common, and with the aim of solving the problem in Northern Kurdistan, a military operation began in the South and in Rojava; thus, we are facing a new war targeting all Kurds, and on the other hand ambiguous and unclear military situations emerge, as other forces are taking part in the war, apart from the Turkish security forces.

Turkey is seeking to control places it has no right to be in. It is in a state of clash with all countries, so it is seeking to end the military operation as soon as possible, but as a result of the escalating resistance, all its plans have failed.

''It is seeking to revenge for Gara defeat

The Turkish state is seeking to compensate for the defeat it suffered in Gara as well as restore the people's confidence. It desperately needs to achieve some victories, and the strategy it has followed from the beginning was not legitimate and right.

These attacks involve targets that exceed its capabilities and energies, as the technical capabilities may achieve some immediate, limited and temporary gains, but this obliges the force under attack to use the same technologies, and here some duplication practices have begun to draw attention to Turkey.

The Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) and the Kurdistan Communities Union's leaderships described this war "the last war," what does the last war mean?

In fact, some of us are not in a position to know this position, as those who are fighting the war know it, but these statements indicate the importance of the situations.

My consideration of these statements is as follows: They wish to say, "If you are going to launch an attack strong enough to exterminate our resistance, then you have to confront the civilian population, and I think that they say that we will mobilize all our capabilities, and the reason is to evaluate the new stage that emerged with the operations of Amed, Şernax and Ileh, and I see that the chosen techniques demonstrate to us the importance and sensitivity of the situation."

Some opinions indicate that this war is not only targeting the Kurdish people, but the rest of the Middle East. The war between the Turkish state and PKK extends to decades. How important is the PKK struggle and resistance to the Middle East? What is the Turkish state seeking to achieve in the Middle East?

Now, Turkey is aspiring to achieve projects beyond its capacity and capabilities, and seeking above all to plunder the areas it occupies in both Syria and Iraq, the Rojava government, the Iraqi government and the Southern government.

Since its strategy is based on the occupation, it is illogical to say that it wants to leave the areas it occupies. This war is not targeting Kurds only; it is a war against the governments of the region.

'The target is the Kurdish entity'

Whatever are the means and forces of resistance, the main issue is the Kurdish entity, so will the Kurds eventually become a free people? On the ground there is a movement that has been able to revive the great hopes and dreams of its society. It has turned into a tangible force.

The Kurds act and move according to public demands, and there is no doubt that this matter would not have been achieved without a vanguard, and this role was achieved through the presence of Ocalan and PKK.

This movement will reach great results in the end, and the second thing is that the current struggle includes historical goals, and these goals are not only related to the Kurdish people, but rather, through the achievement of democracy in the region in general, it would establish a new entity.

'If the situation continues as it is, the war will intensify'

Recently, operations have been carried out against the military bases in Amed, Ileh, and Şernax, and despite all this, the Justice and Development Government acts as if nothing had happened. What awaits Turkey in the future?

The heads of state tried, through psychological warfare, to cover up the military operations in Amed, Ileh and Şernax, and tried to say that these operations were carried out with the mediation of aircraft models; however, the matter is very serious, as in our current situation we have reached an advanced stage in the military terms.

I am sad that this will be the cause of an escalation of the war, as great human losses will occur in the region in which we live if politicians do not change the course of politics from confrontations to negotiations.

'The state pushed the war outside the borders of Turkey'

Turkey is suffering from many conflicts, so is there any chance for peace?

Even if such an opportunity does not currently exist, it must be found. What did the government do? The government's act of managing and directing confrontations outside Turkey's borders opened the way for direct impacts on the daily life of people living in Turkey, and hindered their lives. The other point is that previously it used to use soldiers, but now it relies more on its air forces, which led to a decrease in human losses.

Currently, new and tangible factors and reasons have emerged that push us to talk about peace. There are indications that after the evolution of the war into air warfare, we are entering a new phase of confrontations, and this stage will continue, and I think that the government will initially try to respond to this matter, and it will work to escalate this Stage. On this issue, there is an urgent need to move towards peace.
