On Martyrs' Day ... Afrin martyrs' families march to commemorate them

On the Martyrs' Day, the Martyrs' Families Council of Afrin region organized a march, recalling all the martyrs who sacrificed for their country, and through it they saluted the Guerrilla resistance in the face of the Turkish occupation in the legitimate defense zones.

Under the slogan "Your Path Is Our Path... Your Goal Is Our Goal", the Council of Martyrs' Families of Afrin region organized a march on the occasion of Martyrs' Day, which marks May 18^th.

Hundreds of martyrs' families of Afrin region gathered in Aras district square in al-Shahba canton, waving the pictures of martyrs and the leader Abdullah Ocalan, flags of the Martyrs' Families Council, and a banner with "Your path is our path ... your goal is our goal" written on.

The marchers set off, chanting slogans glorifying the martyrs, and saluting the Guerrilla's resistance in the legitimate defense zones, reaching the martyrs' shrine in Ahras district.

Upon their arrival to the martyrs' cemetery, they stood for a minute of silence, and then a speech was delivered by the Administrator at the Martyrs' Families Council of Afrin Canton, Fawzi Mustafa, in which he said: "We commemorate all the martyrs, and we bow to them. We also salute the resistance of the Guerrilla in Avaşîn, Metina and Zap."

Mustafa added, "When we say a martyr, that person who sacrificed themselves in order to illuminate their people's path comes to our mind, and whatever we talk about martyrs, we will not be able to express the value of their sacrifices."

Manal Sheikho, the Administrator of the Martyrs' Families Council of al-Shahba canton delivered a speech in which she said: "On this day, we remember all the martyrs that we are proud of and who sacrificed for the land and honor."

Manal added, "A day is not enough for the martyrs because they sacrificed for a cause worth sacrifice. If it were not for their sacrifices, homelands would be dispersed."

Then the march ended with chanting slogans that glorified the martyrs, and revived the legitimate defense resistance.
