Hundreds of neighborhood residents and members of civil institutions and political parties in the neighborhood attended the meeting, which was held in Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood, and the place of the meeting was decorated with pictures of leader Abdullah Ocalan and pictures of the martyrs.

The meeting began with a minute of silence in honor of the souls of the martyrs, followed by the co-chair of the Executive Committee of the Democratic Society Movement, Zalal Jager, giving a speech in which she recalled all the freedom martyrs who sacrificed their lives in order to protect their land and people, and said: “When we remember our martyrs on this day, the resistance and struggle must be addressed. Our heroes have shown him for freedom and dignity, and to renew their vow to continue their path. "

Zalal touched on the attacks on the Sheikh Maqsoud neighborhood by the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation and the greatness of the resistance by the people of the neighborhood, who pledged themselves to resistance and steadfastness and protect their land and follow in the footsteps of the martyrs promise.

And she said, "If it were not for the people's resistance, we would not have enjoyed living with dignity and freedom today, as long as we have the spirit of resistance, we will definitely liberate all the areas occupied by the Turkish state, especially Afrin."

Zalal touched on the gains that were made thanks to the blood of the martyrs during the Rojava revolution, who followed the thought and philosophy of the leader Abdullah Ocalan, noting that the Kurds were able to establish the Autonomous Administration and put forward the project of the democratic nation and the brotherhood of peoples in northern and eastern Syria.

At the end of her speech, Zalal stressed the need to escalate and continue the struggle to achieve the goals of the martyrs and to liberate all areas occupied by the Turkish state.
