Calls to escalate struggle to end isolation on leader

On April 19, the Turkish Constitutional Court declared that the isolation imposed on leader Abdullah Ocalan in Imrali prison is legitimate and legal.

Both the co-chair of the Derik District Council, Muhammad Abd al-Rahim, and the co-chair of the Lawyers Union in the Jazira district, denounced the decision of the Constitutional Court, stressing that Turkey talks about laws but does not implement them.

Abdul Rahim indicated that the leader Abdullah Ocalan represents a people, and he is a thinker and philosopher who lives in difficult human conditions under the isolation imposed on him.

Abdul Rahim added, "The Turkish state speaks in the name of laws and democracy, but violates them. What kind of Turkish law that allows Turkey to implement isolation?

The co-chair of Derik District Council, Muhammad Abdul Rahim, denounced the Constitutional Court’s decision, saying: “We reject it altogether and in detail and by all means,” and he called for the leader's struggle to continue.

'There is no legal basis for the statement issued'

The co-chair of the Lawyers Union in Jazira region, Shaheen Lali, confirmed that Turkey is violating laws, violating rights, and legalizing its illegal behavior, striking at the expense of all international covenants.

"The statement issued by the Constitutional Court has no legal basis, it is only to satisfy the Justice and Development Party and the Turkish national movement, which are suffering from internal turmoil and economic deterioration, as the decision issued is a political and not a legal decision," Lali stressed.

Lali pointed out that "the Turkish state violates its constitution and laws, and that the theoretical articles contained in its constitution are one thing and their implementation is another thing, as they only apply what is beneficial for them, and devote the judiciary to serve the Justice and Development Party. Unfortunately, there is no deterrent against its fearful and suspicious behavior in the region. "

Shaheen appealed to all lawyers to escalate their human rights struggle to break the isolation imposed on the leader, stressing that putting an end to the isolation is a duty for all lawyers.
