Yazidi House condemns threats against Şengal and calls for protectiion

The Yazidi House of al-Jazira region condemned the ongoing threats to Şengal, called on the international community to prevent a recurrence of any attack on the Yazidi people in its homeland, and said: "Threatening Şengal and its administration with attacks on the pretext of strange forces' presence on its land are fabrications that have been prepared by the parties that want to dominate the decision of Şengal people."

This came through a statement issued by the Yazidi House for al-Jazira region, in which it said:

"Those of ill-intentioned people continue to threaten Şengal and its administration with attacks and assaults under the pretext of strange forces on their land, which are pure fabrications that have been prepared by the parties that want to dominate the decision of the people of Şengal and confiscate their right to manage themselves on their own.

What is taking place today is a repetition of all the pain that the Yazidi community has suffered from since a long time, including exclusion, killing, calamities, and decrees, which we still fear and live with its concerns, in addition to all of this, Turkey's pronouncement of waging war on Şengal areas, which confirms Erdogan's involvement in planning and mobilizing such dirty conspiracy against our people.

When did Şengal use to manage itself, and when did it used to possess its own strength to defend its people, its mountain, its plain, and even its heritage and its associations? Is not the Şengal Protection Forces that includes thousands of its sons? Is not Şengal Asayish Forces are a source of security and safety for people? Why then all this attack and these daily and constant threats against this administration? Doesn't this mean that they want to eradicate the gains of this people and destroy its democratic experiment in managing themselves, like the rest of the regions in Iraq and the world.

We in the Yazidi house of al-Jazira region condemn these threats, declare our support for the decision of our people, and call on the international community to prevent a recurrence of any attack on our people in their homeland, who did not attack anyone or interfere in their affairs.

Greetings to the spirit of the martyr Khedr Hababi, and all the martyrs of freedom and dignity who martyred in defense of Şengal and its people, shame for the traitors, the occupiers, and those with malicious intentions."
