Politicians, researchers assert that AA is lift raft

A decade since the Syrian crisis and with the insistence of the Damascus government and the so-called opposition to continue the struggle for power, politicians and professors of political thought emphasized that the Autonomous Administration (AA) and administrative decentralization are the life raft to bring Syria to safety.

Since the beginning of the Syrian crisis in March 2011, the Damascus government has relied on military solutions in dealing with the crisis, relying on regional and international parties, "Iran and Russia" politically and militarily, and has used slogans of "combating terrorism and separatists" to re-impose its control on the Syrian geography that it lost.

The Secretary of the Kurdish Democratic Party in Syria (Al-Parti), Nasreddin Ibrahim, considered the Syrian crisis as a complex crisis and not a product of a few years ago, while its roots go back many decades ago; the suffering of the Syrian people from tyranny and dictatorship.

The Damascus government is taking advantage of political and military deals with regional and international countries interfering in the Syrian crisis to re-establish its control over the Syrian geography, starting from the Geneva conferences, passing through Sochi, and ending with Astana tours.

For a decade, the Damascus government has refused any kind of negotiation and dialogue that might lead to political solutions to the Syrian crisis, away from foreign interference, despite the presence of national efforts through a democratic project and experiment that arose in north and east Syria to limit the Syrian tragedy.

As the Syrian crisis entered its tenth year, more than 11 and a half million Syrians were displaced from their lands, and more than 400,000 civilians were killed as a result of the conflict, according to the latest statistics of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights last February.

'The solution is in decentralization'

Nasreddin Ibrahim emphasized that Syria needs a decentralized system in which power and wealth are distributed between the center and the periphery to solve this crisis, and he said: "The project that exists in the Syrian arena now and the best is the establishment of a democratic autonomous administration in which all peoples and nationalities enjoy their own culture, language and education, and regulate society."

The Syrian Democratic Council is considered one of the actors in the Syrian geography, and is representative of many nationalities, religions and spectra of society, civil society institutions, political parties and groupings established at a sensitive stage in the Syrian crisis on December 9, 2015.

He added: "If the Syrian Democratic Council's project "Autonomous Administration" is applied to all Syrian geographies, it will be a model for building a system that represents the Syrian people with all its components, spectra and cultures."

The first autonomous administration that was announced came in al-Jazira region on January 21, 2014, and it was followed by autonomous and civil administrations in other areas of north and east Syria, under the umbrella of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria.

'A magic solution'

About the project that the politician Nasreddin Ibrahim talked about, Professor of History and Political Thought at Alexandria University, Dr. Jalal Zanati, said: "The model is respectable and a magical solution to conflicts in the region because it is based on the principle of partnership and not discrimination or exclusivity, and it is a model that is considered a solution if it has international will to end the conflict in the region."

Al-Zanati pointed out that the failure to take the project as a model for resolving the Syrian crisis is a result of the obstructions and intransigence of the international powers interfering in the Syrian crisis, and said: "The international forces that polarize the country, and the Islamized forces such as the Iranian mullahs who support the Baath, as well as Turkey and other countries that support the Brotherhood and terrorist groups to impose their influence in the Millî Pact hinder the development of this project."|

He added: "At the same time, the regional powers preoccupation of imposing their influence, such as the United States and Russia affected the closure of this experiment in light of the media distortion it is exposed to."

On the insistence of the Damascus government and the regional parties in rejecting the Autonomous Administration, Al-Zanati said: "The Syrian regime only wants to establish individual rule in particular, and impose the influence of the Baath and Al Assad, as well as Turkey which believes that the Kurds in the Autonomous Administration are a traditional enemy and an enemy of existence because the Kurds believe in the partnership among the peoples of the region."

Al-Zanati added about Turkey: "Since Turkey, led by the Justice and Development Party, has ambitions in the Middle East, it is trying in every way to thwart the Autonomous Administration project because by its nature it will eliminate Turkey's Muslim Brotherhood ambitions and its Islamized project in the Middle East."

He continued: "Iran, Turkey and international powers believe that this project will transform the peoples of the region into a model capable of making decisions and development, which prevents those parties' ambitions of colonialism and imposing hegemony on the peoples of the Middle East."

Al-Zanati pointed out that resorting to dialogue alongside the countries of the region will lead to a political solution that eliminates violence, and that the dialogue will provide an opportunity to repeat the experience of the Autonomous Administration and co-existence at the regional level, and will have a positive political and economic impact on the region.

He said: "If the Autonomous Administration is implemented in Syria, it will have a great impact on neighboring countries, at first it will have effects on Iraq, Lebanon and Yemen as a result of Iran's chauvinistic exclusion of Iran and Turkey from tampering with the history and fate of the peoples of the region that made history and civilization for the whole world."

For his part, Nasreddin Ibrahim pointed out that the decentralized, pluralistic, democratic system which will constitutionally recognize the rights of all Syrian components is the best and most appropriate solution to solve the current crisis in the country.

The Secretary of Al-Party, Nasreddin Ibrahim, noted that without a decentralized, pluralistic democratic system, Syria will return to a dictatorial unitary system once again, as is the "Syrian Coalition Project" and others.
