On Sunday, the Council issued a statement to public opinion, in which it congratulated all the women defending human and democratic values in the global arenas of struggle, on the eighth of March.

The text of the statement read:

It is no secret that the demand for equality and freedom has always been one of the first struggles of women all over the world. The ruling and authoritarian male regimes have worked from the beginning of history to the present day to eliminate the sanctity of women and their divine attributes, and to transform them into something subordinate, which they are not entitled to any right under the name of outdated customs and traditions. Which was the reason for the suicide and killing of many women in the world, but with struggle and determination, women broke all the restrictions they were hindered to demanding their rights and freedom for all women.

In northern and eastern Syria, this holy land was watered with the blood of the martyrs, and with the leadership of the free militant woman, women have achieved great epics that have never been seen throughout history, as they resisted, struggled and restored the colors of the spring, to become an example for all women in the world, which made them vulnerable to narrow reactionary mindsets. Which followed all brutal and inhuman methods, foremost of which is the fascist Turkish state, which realized that the victory of women means the victory of freedom and democracy, and that is why it deliberately targeted women and followed methods of oppression and murder against them in Afrin, Serekaniye/ Ras-al-Ain and Tal-Abyed after their occupation and forced displacement of our people, but this did not reduce the determination and struggle of women, but rather made them resist more resolutely for the sake of freedom and the return to our lands after their liberation from the abomination of terrorism.

We congratulate all the women in the world who defend human and democratic values in the arenas of struggle, and let every day of the year be a women's day. "
