Aleppo people: Women proved themselves in Rojava Revolution

In conjunction with the 8^th of March, International Women's Day, the people of Sheikh Maqsoud and Ashrafieh neighborhoods in the city of Aleppo congratulated the women of the world on this day, and the women of Rojava who left an influential imprint on the history of women's struggle.

The philosophy of the leader has a role in the liberation of women

The citizen Ahmed Hassen blessed in an interview with our agency, International Women's Day, and said, “Women in our society suffered a lot from injustice as a result of outdated customs and traditions that were imposed on them, but after she got acquainted with the thought of freedom in the Rojava Revolution, she was able to change society’s view of them, and to have will.”

He added, "The philosophy of the leader Abdullah Ocalan had a great role in changing this mentality, and the best example of this is that many women in the Women Protection Units (YPJ) stand before enemy attacks and registered the most wonderful heroic epics on the front lines.”

Women’s role in Rojava Revolution

As for the citizen Ahmed Hajj Abdullah, in his interview with our agency, he touched on the role of women in society, as he said: “Women are half of society and they are governesses of the other half. They are able to establish a righteous society based on equality.”

On the role of women in the Rojava Revolution, Abdullah said, “Women have achieved many victories in the Rojava Revolution, the most important of which is fighting ISIS mercenaries with their free will, as the Syrian women were able to achieve the impossible during their revolution.”

He continued, “All these achievements made by women are derived from the thought and philosophy of the leader Abdullah Ocalan who called for liberating the mentality of society and granting women their rights to lead society alongside men. Women were able to achieve the greatest achievements in all military, political, social and economic aspects.”

Abdullah added, “Since history, the enemies of humanity have planted strife between men and women and made them slaves, while the remnants of those conspiracies still remain. In the recent period, we have seen that ISIS mercenaries have taken women as slaves and sold them in the market as slaves, so it is necessary to know the role of women as the mother, sister and wife.”

At the end of his speech, he stressed the need for women to obtain their full freedom and fight the male mentality in society, starting with children and implanting gender equality in them.

Women in Rojava have left an imprint in the history of women's struggle

For his part, the citizen Mohamed Abdel Qader in a talk to our agency blessed this day on the entire world, especially women in north-east Syria who played a prominent role at various levels to preserve the gains made with the blood of the martyrs.

He said, “Women were able to prove themselves at all levels, and stand in the way of ISIS mercenaries, such as the struggler Arin Mirkan who left an imprint in the history of Syrian women's struggle and was able to be the vanguard of women in north-east Syria.”
