The Vice President of the Politics and Democratic Thought Academy in Southern Kurdistan, Dr. Kamiran Berwari, spoke to ANHA agency about the Turkish occupation state’s attack on Gara and killing of the captured Turkish soldiers.

'Plan stages to occupy Southern Kurdistan'

Barwari noted that the Turkish occupation army attack, came within an expanded plan on several stages, and added: “It is known that the Turkish state has long been preparing for this attack for controlling many strategic sites. On the one hand, controlling the position of the Guerrillas forces stationed in the borders of the Bahdinan region. On the other hand, it seeks to encircl Southern Kurdistan and the Peshmerga forces not remain anywhere.

The plan came in force on May 6, 2020, that is, the Turkish state was deadlined 8 months to implement its plan to gradually occupy Southern Kurdistan.

The plan was on 4 stages:

The first stage: the occupation of the mountains extending from the borders of Zakho to Kilashini (and includes in particular the Barwari area and the strategic mountain Sarani).

Stage Two: Controlling Gara and Mina. As for the third stage expands to the areas beyond Mount Sheikhan and the Maqloubi Sheikh and Akri mountains. Controlling the Hamrin Mountains and the borders of Southern Kurdistan with Iraq was planned in the fourth one.

Barwari indicated that this took place after Al-Kazemi's visit to Ankara in particular, and Akar's visit to Iraq.

Regarding the role of the so-called "Peshmerga Roj" " in the plan, Berwari said: "In addition to the Turkish army, many other forces participated in this attack; this happened 30 years ago as well because the Turkish state is quite certain that it cannot alone carry out the attack even after a hundred years.

'Gara's attack was a lesson'

On the attack of February 10 against the Gara mountains, Berwari indicated that the Turkish state was aspiring to a military victory in the region in parallel with February 15 anniversay, and said in this regard: “The attacks were an important test for patriotism by the KRG (Başûr) and the parties in power as well as the opposition parties.

Military air bases and roads that lead to the mountains of Kurdistan were built. Was this done in order to open the way for the Turkish state or for our people so that we could defend Kurdistan? In the attack on Gara, it was clear which forces participated, because the Turkish state cannot do such a thing on its own.

The Turkish state has completely violated the sovereignty of the Iraqi state, as it occupies part of the Başûr, so the presidency and the PM’s office in the Iraqi parliament, America and Europe, must have a clear position on this.

The Turkish state seeks to force the United States of America to adopt the Trump's policies,  to have the chance to act like " a spoiled son " in the Middle East, Scandinavia and Africa.

'This is a national war'

Barwari added: “It is a national war between 60 million Kurdish people in the four parts of Kurdistan on the one hand, and the AKP's government on the other hand. That the Kurdish people do not accept that.

There can be certain relations with enemies' states. No doubt, diplomatic, economic relations between the KRG with Turkey, Syria and Iran are legitimate, but the establishment of military, intelligence ones at the expense of Kurdistan, neither the PKK nor the Kurdish people will not accept it.

The KDP history of struggle, goes back to 75 years, and people joined it for the sake of liberation of Kurdistan, not any other reason.

All these sacrifices we made were not for the Iraqi government to impose its authority again on the region. We have federal rights affirmed in the Iraqi constitution.

'The plan includes Şengal, Southern Kurdistan and Rojava.'

Berwari noted that the entry of Turkish occupation army in Southern Kurdistan seriously harms the Kurdish national unity, and said: “We must work to take practical steps at all levels.”

The Turkish state alone cannot attack the strong-willed Kurdish people. On the other hand, it seeks to sow discord among the Kurdish people. Children of the Kurdish people, leaders, fighters and parties, defend their land and revolution, because this stage is of struggle. Either we achieve a decent and honorable life and an honorable victory, or we will die as slaves. "

'They previously tried to kill prisoners of war'

Regarding the Turkish occupation state’s killing of prisoners of war, Barwari said: “The PKK has always worked to protect prisoners of war, and there have been previous efforts by the Turkish state to kill these prisoners when two Turkish intelligence agents were arrested. The Turkish state bombed the area intensively, but its plan failed at the time. "
