"International conspiracy against leader opened new approach to peoples' resistance"

On October 9, 1998, the leader Abdullah Ocalan was subjected to an international conspiracy, following which he was arrested, and he is subjected to strict isolation in Imrali Island prison.

The Kongra Star , in coordination with the Democratic Union Party, held a meeting in Baqi Khedo Center for Culture and Art in Kobane city, in conjunction with the approaching of the international conspiracy memory, and it was attended by dozens of people and members of all civil centers and institutions in Kobane canton.

The meeting began with holding a minute of silence in commemoration of the martyrs, followed by the opening speech by the Member of the Kongra Star Coordination in the Euphrates region, Rawshen Hajim, who noted that "the conspiracy began with the person of the leader and is still continuing in all regions of Kurdistan through the Turkish occupation of northern Syria, the perpetration of massacres and crimes against the Kurds and changing the demographics of the region, with the aim of exterminating the Kurdish people ethnically, culturally and geographically."

Rawshen noted that the conspiracy is not only against the leader, but against all the oppressed peoples who demand their freedom.

Then the Administrator of the Democratic Union Party in the Euphrates region, Ahmed Sheikho, delivered a speech in which he said: "The international conspiracy against the leader has restored the spirit of resistance to the Kurdish people who were under the influence of injustice and tyranny by the occupying state of Kurdistan. The leader opened the way to freedom and resistance for the Kurdish people. Despite his arrest, he opened a new approach to the resistance of peoples seeking freedom through his thought and philosophy."

Sheikho asserted: "The July 19^th Revolution was a light of the resistance flame of the leader Abdullah Ocalan."

At the end of his speech, Sheikho stressed that the people of North and East Syria must work for the success of the democratic nation project which guarantees human rights for all peoples, protects the gains of the July 19^th Revolution, and follows the path of resistance behind the leader Ocalan.

For her part, the Member of the Kongra Star Coordination in Kobane, Nodem Shelan, said: "The policy of extermination against the Kurdish people is not the first in history. The policy of extermination against the Kurds began with a conspiracy against the leader Abdullah Ocalan and is still continuing against all Kurds in the four parts of Kurdistan, but thanks to the leader's thought, that plot was thwarted."

 She said: "We, as a revolutionary and resistant people, must struggle against the conspiracy and all methods of extermination against the Kurdish people, and work for the success of the Rojava Revolution, thus liberate the leader."

The meeting ended with chanting slogans that saluted the leader, prisons' resistance and the Rojava Revolution.

This meeting comes within a series of meetings that have been being held since the 31^st of last month, in coordination between the PYD and the Kongra Star Coordination in all areas and towns of the Euphrates region, and the meetings will continue until February 15.
