Sister of a political detainee: aim to silence prison resistance 

Turkish authorities are still imposing isolation on leader Abdullah Ocalan, and deny admission by his family and lawyers to visit him, in a blatant violation of all human norms and laws.

On this, an open hunger strike was launched by male and female political detainees of the Kurdistan Workers' Party and the Kurdistan Free Women Party in the Turkish jails on November 27^th,. 

One of those on hunger strike is Mohamed Reshid Resho, from the occupied Afrin Canton, who was arrested in 2017 by the Turkish authorities on the charge of political activity, and was sentenced to 36 years imprisonment.

Aitan Resho, sister of Mohamed Reshid, denounces the tightened isolation imposed on leader Abdullah Ocalan, and all breaches by the Turkish authorities against all political detainees inside Turkish jails. 

Aitan says that '' in 2017 her brother was arrested by the Turkish authorities on the charge of political activity, to undergo barbaric torture, but he never gave up, so he was sentenced to 36 years imprisonment'', and that her brother is one of those went on the open hunger strike to lift isolation on leader Ocalan.

Aitan goes on to say'' we used to contact my brother via phone just for ten minutes, but for the last two months we have never contacted him, as the Turkish authorities forbids that under the COVID-19 Pandemic pretext''. 

At the end of her speech, Aitan called on all the Kurdish people to revolt and hold activities in support of the political detainees on hunger strike, saying'' we would be victorious as the isolation would be removed, as she wondered,  where are the human rights organizations in reference to breaches inside the Turkish jails''.
