Saudi Arabia's king Salman invites to Qatar's Emir to participate in GCC session

The General Secretariat of the Gulf Cooperation Council announced today, Wednesday, that the Secretary-General of the Council, Nayef al-Hajraf, has delivered the invitation of the Saudi 's King Salman to the Emir of Qatar to participate in the 41st session of the Council, according to the Saudi newspaper Okaz.

Al-Hajraf delivered the invitation to the Qatari Emir, upon receiving him at his office in the Amiri Diwan in Doha Palace, where he informed him of the ongoing preparations for the meeting of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council.

It is planned that the 41st session of the Supreme Council of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) will be held in Saudi Arabia under the chairmanship of King Salman and with the participation of leaders of member states on January 5.

The crisis between Qatar on the one hand and Saudi Arabia, the Emirates, Bahrain and Egypt on the other hand, erupted in mid-2017, as a result of which the three Gulf states and Egypt severed diplomatic and commercial relations and airlines with Qatar, accusing it of supporting terrorism, while the United States and Kuwait continue their efforts to end the crisis.
