Tel Tamir Assyrians, Syriacs celebrate birth of Jesus Christ

This morning, hundreds of Assyrians and Syriacs went to the Church of the Virgin Mary in the center of Tal Tamir district in Al-Hasakah canton to celebrate the birth of Christ, peace be upon him, in the midst of their own hymns and rituals.

Where verses from the Bible were recited and prayers and supplications were made for the sake of bringing peace and security to the region.

Jamila Kaku from the Assyrian component indicated to our agency, "Today we celebrate the birth of the child of the cave, the Lord of life, the victor over death, Jesus Christ."

She explained, "We opened the church for the first time since the outbreak of the Corona epidemic, and we are happy to gather inside the church and celebrate Christmas."

Kaku wished that security and safety prevail throughout the homeland. "

On his part, Nabil Warda spoke to bless at the beginning of his Christmas speech on all components of northern and eastern Syria and on the military forces stationed on the battlefronts.

He explained, "Our wish this year is to liberate our regions from the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries, and where the next holiday is a feast of victory and is celebrated in all regions of north and east Syria."

As part of the celebration and the prayers held in the church, a delegation of the Internal Security Forces, the military forces and a delegation of city councils and political parties visited the Church of the Virgin Mary to congratulate the Assyrians and Syriacs on the birth of Christ.
