Turkish Court sentences Laila Guven to 22 years imprisonment

The Turkish Tribunal sentenced on today co-chair of the Democratic Society Congress, Laila Guven, to 22 years and 3 months imprisonment.

The court session for the lawsuit filed against Laila Guven, co-chair of the Democratic Society Congress,  was held at 9:00 today morning at the Supreme Criminal Court in the city of Amed, where she was faced with 18 cases.

Laila Guven never was present at sessions, represented by her lawyer Serdar Celebi and Cemila Turhali Baslak.

The prosecutor demanded that Laila be punished on charges of '' setting up and administering an organization'', ''membership to an organization'', inciting people to gather, demonstrate and illegal marches, and ''participation in unlicensed demonstrations''. 

The court passed that Laila Guven be arrested and put into prison for 22 years and 3 months.
