Al-Maliki said: “The coalition forces were able to intercept and destroy an explosive UAV that was launched by the Houthis in a systematic and deliberate manner to target notables and civilians in the southern region of Saudi Arabia.”

The Houthis did not comment on the statements made by the coalition spokesman.

For its part, the "Ansar Allah" group accused the Arab coalition of violating the UN armistice declared on December 18, 2018 in Hodeidah Governorate, west of Yemen, by "carrying out three raids by combat spy flights on the Al-Faza area (At-Tuhayat district, south of Hodeidah).

Since March 2015, Saudi Arabia has led a military coalition of Arab and Islamic countries in support of the internationally recognized Yemeni government, in its efforts to re-take the capital, Sanaa, and large areas in northern and western Yemen, which the Houthi “Ansar Allah” group took control of in late 2014.
