Protests expand in Başûr leaving 2 martyrs, 4 wounded

In protest against the delayed payment of salaries and the poor living conditions in Başûr Kurdistan, separate areas of Sulaymaniyah governorate have been witnessing since a week mass demonstrations. In today's demonstrations, two of them were martyred by the security forces' bullet.

Today, a demonstration took place in Tekiyeh district of Sulaymaniyah, in which the demonstrators burned the headquarter of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, and then went to the headquarter of the Kurdistan Patriotic Union.

Roj News quoted from sources that the security forces tried to disperse the demonstrators by firing live bullets, which led to martyring a 28-year-old protester and wounding 4 others.

In Sayed Sadiq district of Sulaymaniyah city, a 12-year-old boy was martyred after security forces used live bullets to disperse the demonstrators today, according to Roj News.

Qeladizê, Pirmikron, Zarian in Sharzo districts, Penjuin province, Kalar province and Kevri town people joined the protests in the region.

Three citizens were martyred and 52 were wounded in the protests that took place in Başûr Kurdistan on Monday in the governorates of Halabja and Sulaymaniyah after security forces and guards of party headquarters opened fire on the demonstrators.
