The pace of Turkish shelling on the district increased in intensity during the past two weeks, sometimes targeting the district center.

Our correspondent in Ain Issa prepared a report on the Turkish attacks and international positions on those attacks.

Details of the attacks

On the 23rd of last November, the Turkish occupation army paved the way for occupying the villages of al-Maalek and Sidon after artillery and missile shelling targeted the outskirts of Ain Issa town at exactly 23:50, planning to deploy on the international road and besiege the town from the northern and western sides.

The Syrian Democratic Forces withdrew at night from the northern axis to the outskirts of the town, bringing dozens of mercenaries to the village of Maalek and Ain Issa camp at a distance of hundreds of meters from the international road.

Units of Tel Abyad Military Council forces surrounded dozens of mercenaries in al-Maalek village, sparking clashes that lasted for 9 hours, in which Turkey used heavy weapons to break the siege after 18 Turkish mercenaries were killed, among them the mastermind of the attack "Ismail Eido," one of the former ISIS princes in al-Raqqa.

The Syrian Democratic Forces have allowed the Turkish occupation to withdraw the bodies of mercenaries under an agreement sponsored by Russia in al-Maalek village and Ain Issa camp.

Brutal bombardment after defeat in al-Maalek village

The Turkish occupation targeted the vicinity of Ain Issa and the northern outskirts of the town with hundreds of artillery and missile shells, leaving 4 civilian casualties, in addition to wounding 14 others.

Hundreds of angry demonstrators protested in front of the largest Russian bases in the town, and denounced the Russian "silent" position regarding Turkish violations and crimes.

Turkish military base near the international road

The Turkish occupation began building a military base near the village of Sidon, 2 km north of Ain Issa town on the 20th of November.

Earth mounds surround the base, while an observation tower is in the center topped by thermal surveillance cameras.

This base is the center for launching hundreds of shells on the surrounding of Ain Issa town and the populated villages on the international road over the past 3 weeks.

The international community does not fulfill its humanitarian obligations

Riyadh al-Khalaf, the Commander of Tel Abyad Military Council indicated that Turkey is taking advantage of the absence of serious international stances towards what it is committing in Syria, and that they are determined to protect their areas and that is a "legitimate right."

Al-Khalaf added: "The military councils in the Syrian Democratic Forces have fought battles on behalf of the world, but the international community does not fulfill its humanitarian obligations towards the town which was the starting point for an alliance between the international coalition and the SDF in destroying the capital of global terrorism "ISIS" in al-Raqqa.

Riyadh al-Khalaf explained that the government of the Russian Federation does not play its role, as it is the guarantor of the ceasefire process in the contact areas between the Syrian Democratic Forces and the Turkish occupation army.
