Cibêr Shaikh Suleiman calls for official recognition of the Shingal Asayish

Cibêr Shaikh Suleiman, co-chair of the Religious Affairs and Beliefs Office in the Jazira Canton, has condemned the concluded agreement between the Iraqi Federal Government and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, the PDK, on October 9^th, 2020, saying : ''the agreement is just a trick, and a new plot against Shengal''.

On October 9^th, 2020, it was announced by the Iraqi Federal Government and the Kurdistan Democratic Party, the PDK, that they have reached an agreement to run Shengal on the arenas of administration, service and security jointly by the two governments, without taking into consideration the will of Shengal people that conduced to widespread social resentment. 

Shaikh Suleiman wondered as saying '' where had been the Federal Government and the Iraqi Kurdistan Regional Government in 2014, when Shengal was open to offensives at the hands of mercenaries''? why such an agreement is being concluded in a time where ISIS caused immeasurable destruction to the Yazidi people and enslaved thousands of women and children''? adding that :'' today, the people in Shengal, run their issues, on civilian and military arenas, and have proven themselves capable''.    

Shiaikh Suleiman stressed on the necessity of an official recognition of the Shengal Asayish, saying:'' we are no longer believe words,  there must be an official agreement''.

At the end of his speech, Cibêr Shaikh Suleiman called on all Yazidis all over the world, to take to squares and organize activities for their voice to be echoed by the international public opinion that the October 9^th, 2020, Shengal Agreement is unacceptable.
