Şilan Kobani remembered at Amuda

A ceremonial was held by women in the district of Amuda, of the Qamislo Canton, in commemoration of the 16th annual anniversary of the martyrdom of fighter Şilan Kobani, stating that '' by virtue of leader Ocalan's thoughts and struggle by Martyr Şilan and her comrades we stand today at such a phase of resistance''.

Today marks the 16^th annual anniversary of the martyrdom of fighter Şilan Kobani( Maysa' Baqi) member of the Central Committee of the Democratic Union Party, the PYD, and her comrades Zakariya, Joan, Fu'ad and Cemil who were all killed treacherously at the city of Mosul in a joint plot machinated by agents of both Syrian and Turkish regimes, on November 29^th, 2004.

On such an occasion, a statement was released by Women Council of the Democratic Union Party, in coordination with the Star Congress, or Congreya Star.

The statement was delivered in front of the Democratic Union Party office, at the city of Amuda, with the participation of female members of the civil society associations, Star Congress and the Democratic Union Party, where photos of leader Abdullah Ocalan and Şilan's were raised.

The statement that was read by co-chair of the Democratic Union Party in Amuda, Minawar Khalid, reads as follows:

We condemn and denounce the hands that targeted Şilan and her striving comrades who fought against the dictatorial and tyrannical regimes, today, the Kurdish people is still open to authoritarian regimes, we, in the Democratic Union Party, we would escalate our fighting against regimes famous for suppression and enslavement, we call for a free and a democratic system, and equality between all components and genders''.

The statement was concluded by assuring the path taken by Şilan Kobani and others would be followed up.
