Civilians are permanent target to Turkish occupation, mercenaries on Manbij front lines

Villages in the countryside of the city of Manbij, located near the areas Turkey occupies in northern Syria, are under the mercenary groups of the Turkish occupation army’s shelling, and most of the civilians from the region are the victims of repeated shelling.

Recently, the shelling on the northern and western countryside of Manbij city has been repeated, starting from the areas occupied by Turkey and its mercenaries in northern Syria.

These bombardments focused on villages inhabited by hundreds of civilians, which put the lives of all of them at risk of death or casualty, with the exception of the physical damage caused by the shells falling in the middle of the villages and orchards.

Brutal enemy target humans and stone!

Hussein Al-Hamad from the village of Al-Hawsria, 22 kilometers north of Manbij, says that the villages near the occupation areas are under Turkey and the mercenaries of the Euphrates Shield’s bombardment every now and then.

Hussein Al-Hamad added, "This shelling does not spare civilians nor soldiers, as they mercilessly shell using medium and heavy weapons."

Al-Hamad indicated that the targeting takes place in the late hours of the night driving the people into a state of terror, especially children and women. He wonders, “What can we do?

Hussein Al-Hamad describes the situation in the villages adjacent to the occupied areas as “unpleasant” since the mercenaries shell the villages non-stop.

"Civilians fall victim to the shelling; adding insult to injury, bullets also shower over the heads of the villagers," he concluded.

Villagers cannot cultivate their land

Yusef al-Samu’s house is only about one kilometer from the line separating the mercenaries and the Manbij Military Council, and shells often land near the house.

-Samu says that he owns agricultural lands on the other side of the Sajur River, where the occupied areas are, but he cannot cultivate them because the mercenaries prevent them from crossing and cultivating their lands and targets them repeatedly.

Manbij Military Council fighters in the face of mercenaries

The fighters of the Manbij Military Council are stationed at dozens of points facing the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries. Ali Al-Hussein Al-Alaiwi, one of the fighters, says: "The Turkish bases on the opposite side are targeting them."

He added, "There are many movements of mercenaries, and they often rely on setting (flying) checkpoints that are not always fixed, in addition to deliberately firing live bullets to terrorize the civilians present in the area."

In a related context, the fighter Osama Kamel Jumaa said that the mercenaries "sometimes infiltrate into the region, the Manbij Military Council forces in turn confront them and do not allow them to achieve their goals."

He stated that Turkey has always been flying reconnaissance aircraft in the skies of the region.

On November 7, the mercenaries shelled the villages of Al-Hoshiria and Al-Gat, northeast of Manbij, with heavy weapons and mortars, and this scene is repeated in all the villages opposite to the occupied areas on an almost daily basis.
