Russian – Turkish joint patrols proceed in NE Syria

Accompanied by Turkish Occupation Forces, the Russian Military Police conducted today morning another joint patrol on the Syrian border with Turkey to the west of the city of Kobani, in northern Syria.

It was reported by ANHA's correspondent that the patrol set off, just a while ago, from the village of Ashme on the border, after four Turkish armoured vehicles entered the Syrian soil, where four Russian ones were awaiting, then the two sides conducted the patrol alongside the border.   

It is scheduled that the joint patrol would pass villages on the border in western rural Kobani, in implementation of the Sochi Understandings concluded between Russia's Vladimir Putin and Turkey's Receb Tayyib Erdogan at the Russian city of Sochi on October 22^nd, 2019. 

Since then, the two sides conduct joint patrols, of which the last one to be conducted in western Kobani was on November 12^th, 2020.  

In addition to conducting joint patrols, the Sochi Understandings stipulate that all hostilities in NE Syria be stopped, but the Turkish Occupation Army with affiliated mercenaries proceed, on daily bases, to breach such a term, where outskirts of Ain Issa and surrounding villages are being attacked, an addition to villages of the Tal Tamr District , Zarghan's and Tal Abyad's, amid Russian silence that is a Guarantor State, and supposed to deter Turkey from such breaches.
