The Human Rights Network in Eastern Kurdistan said that an Iranian armed force, without prior warning or explanation, went to Kermanshah prison and transferred political prisoner Zainab Jalalian to an unknown location.

On May 28 of this year, the Iranian authorities transferred the activist Zainab to the prison (Karajki Warmin), and it became clear that she had contracted the Coronavirus as a result of negligence, lack of health care and lack of necessary medication, which posed a threat to her life.

Zainab Jalalian, a Kurdish political prisoner, was born in 1982 in the city of Mako. The Iranian authorities arrested her for her political activities in 2007 in the city of Kermashan, and imprisoned her. During her detention, she was subjected to physical and psychological torture, according to human rights organizations.

The so-called "Iranian Revolutionary Court" issued a death sentence against Zainab Jalalian in a field manner within a few minutes, violating the law, and without being allowed to appoint a defense lawyer.

After four years of struggle in prison and her denial of the charges against her, as well as the internationalization of her case worldwide, her sentence was reduced to life imprisonment. It is noteworthy that Zainab Jalalian is the first woman in Iran to be sentenced to life imprisonment.
