On Monday morning, Arab press focused on the situation in southern Syria, as well as the internal Turkish situation, and Lebanese and Libyan crisis.

Russian-Iranian conflict in Daraa

The beginning of the Syrian issue, as Al-Sharq al-Awsat newspaper said: “Daraa governorate (southern Syria) witnessed a series of events following the security campaign of the regime forces and militants loyal to it and Iran, led by the elements of the Fourth Division, within the outskirts of Daraa al-Balad in the city of Daraa, and within the framework of the Russian conflict - The Iranian regime in the province, represented by the loyal local forces supported by each party. "

And added, "Explosions were heard in separate areas of the city of Daraa yesterday, coinciding with the sounds of gunfire caused by shells fired by the regime forces on the areas of Daraa al-Balad, as part of the security campaign that they started on Sunday morning in the vicinity of Daraa city, in the first campaign of its kind. Since the "settlement agreement" with the opposition factions in 2018, under Russian auspices.

The "Syrian Observatory for Human Rights" reported that a group of people from the western region of Daraa had captured two officers and 10 members of the militia of the Fourth Division "in solidarity with Daraa, whose southern regions witnessed an attack by militias affiliated with the regime and Iran, on Sunday morning."

Erdogan's financial policy failed

Regarding the Turkish issue, Al-Arab newspaper said: “The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s son-in-law announced his resignation on Sunday as finance minister, citing health reasons, while observers attribute the resignation to the failure of his financial policies that damaged the economy, with the Turkish lira declining to record levels against the dollar.

"After taking ministerial portfolios for nearly five years, I decided to stop exercising my duties (as finance minister) for health reasons," said Berat Albayrak.

The economic and financial policy of Erdogan's son-in-law is facing constant criticism from the Turkish opposition, as voices accuse Albayrak of failing to improve the Turkish economic situation.

On Saturday, a member of the Turkish Presidential Supreme Advisory Council, Bulent Arinc, warned the Finance Minister of the current economic situation in Turkey.

With the resignation of Albayrak and the dismissal of Uysal, the Turkish president has officially recognized the failure of his special economic equation, which ended with an exceptional decline in the exchange rate of the lira and the blockage of loans and other monetary instruments to reform the country's financial and economic situation.

Observers have repeatedly expected the dismissal of the Minister of Finance, as part of the ministerial changes necessary to deal with the economic crisis that threatens the country, but Erdogan stressed at the end of last year that "when there is a need related to the ministerial cadre, we will take the necessary measures."

Erdogan has previously admitted that his country may face economic problems, but he is always working to absolve himself and his son-in-law from any responsibility, as he reached the state of the economy, and to confirm that the basis of the problems was the former central bank governor, by limiting problems and mistakes to it, and that mismanagement pushed To the previous and current collapse, without having the courage to admit his mistakes, and that his economic policies that are described as far from the objectivity and logic of the markets are what led to the collapse and recession.

Turkey's followers block the Libyan solution

In Libya, Al-Bayan newspaper said: "As was expected by many observers of the Libyan scene, the process of implementing the agreements completed by the Libyan parties to the dialogue began on more than one track, facing real challenges when they entered into force."

Added, "The obstacles were represented in the rejection of armed formations forming the backbone of Burkan Alghadab military operation affiliated with the Government of National Accord in Tripoli, agreements and understandings of the Libyan military committees in Geneva and Ghadames, which everyone in Libya had been very pleased with, expecting that they would be the mainstay of the other awaited consensuses in the political track, as today opens. The Libyan Political Dialogue Forum will be based in the suburb of Gammarth, north of the Tunisian capital. The forum’s activities will be based on four main objectives, namely reaching general elections, renewing the legitimacy of existing institutions, creating a unified executive authority and agreeing on a constitutional and legal basis for holding elections.

These doubts and fears moved after an armed group at Maitika airport kidnapped passengers on board a plane coming from eastern Libya, demanding to exchange them for prisoners in Benghazi, whom the authorities in the city accused of belonging to terrorist groups that were fighting against the National Army years ago.

Lebanese government consultations returned to zero

Regarding the Lebanese issue, Al-Akhbar newspaper said: “Under the title 'You Free Me', Representative Gebran Bassil discussed the US sanctions that affected him. Did he not yield to the continued American pressure to disengage from Hezbollah, so the accusation of corruption was ready? It is true that he left a wide margin in the face of differing opinions with Hezbollah. However, he was decisive in that the relationship with the party was not an American affair, all of this led Bassil to end the phase of distancing himself from the forefront in negotiations to form the government, as he hoped that the sanctions would contribute to overcoming the obstacles, most notably Saad Hariri's insistence on participating in naming the Christian ministers, He revived some of the conditions that had been violated, most notably: the rejection of the government of 18 ministers, and the rejection of the rotation that excludes the Ministry of Finance.

And added, "Governmentally, Bassil’s words were proven what was evident two days ago, after Hariri mixed the authoring papers with his insistence on participating in naming Christian ministers and his retreat from replacing the Ministry of Interior with foreign affairs, before Bassil reaffirmed that the consultations had returned to zero point. As for Hezbollah, which was agreed. With Bassil, each party working to manage government negotiations in a way that suits him. After the sanctions, he has faced a new situation that requires him to support his ally and prevent him from being singled out. Therefore, he will not allow Bassil to be blamed for the consequences of the sanctions, nor will he be allowed to deal with Bassil as the only victim. From the October 17 uprising. "
