European diplomat: European summit to condemn Turkish escalation in eastern Mediterranean

A European diplomat suggested that the European Union will condemn the Turkish escalation steps in the eastern Mediterranean during their upcoming summit in Brussels.

A European diplomat declared on Wednesday that "the European summit scheduled for Friday afternoon will discuss developments in the eastern Mediterranean crisis."

The diplomat suggested to Al Arabiya network "the European summit condemning the Turkish escalation steps" in the eastern Mediterranean region.

The European leaders will hold their summit next Thursday and Friday in Brussels, and it is scheduled that the Turkish file and Ankara's recent activities in the eastern Mediterranean will be in front of the European summit again.

It should be noted that at the end of the last summit, the 27 heads of state and government had issued warnings to Turkey, warning it to impose sanctions on it unless it retreated from the steps they described as "provocative" that violate the sovereignty of Greece and Cyprus by excavating for gas in their respective territorial water.
