Havrin left A timeless legacy of struggle for future generations and became a symbol of free women, writing down her name among the greatest women of the world.

Khalaf's life began in one of the neighborhoods of Derik in 1983, where she came from a patriotic family, mother Suad, father Haji, four brothers and one sister named Zozan). Her mother Suad had two meetings with the leader Abdullah Ocalan in Damascus and Lebanon. This had a major on Khalaf's personality.

Her family sacrificed 12 martyrs for the sake of her people. Zozan was martyred in the ranks of the Kurdistan Liberation Movement while three of her cousins were martyred in the revolution of the NE Syria, including Khalaf.

She had a characteristic of her family and mother, who likened her birth to the jasmine's fragrant smell and people's love for it.

From the day one until her martyrdom, she was loved by those who knew her.

She had distinguished manners, and good social relations in the environment, school, neighborhood, even in workplace and residence. These qualities grew with her until her martyrdom that shook the world.

She was known by a number of names in her family, as her father called her “my beloved” (RÎNA BABO), and to her elder brother as, "darling".

She was known as a young man with her patriotic sense that prompted her to join the Newroz Children’s Theater Company in Dêrik when she was eleven to act role of human rights, as the course of the play was the Halabja massacre. At that time, she told her mother that had no role to play except for human rights, as she said then, "I can do and I will".

She studied at Mamoun Elementary School in the early 1990, and was known for her calmness and manners among the teaching staff and companions in Dêrik. she excelled in her school and was good-looking.

As for the preparatory stage, she was in the Zuhair School in Dêrik in 1996. After outperformed the school, she was chosen to participate in the Mathematics Olympiad at fifth grade.

She studied at Al-Taleea High School, the scientific branch. She moved to Aleppo to complete her university studies after being deprived of the grades of Al-Sa'aiqa course, as a result she could not enroll at the medical college that she was dreaming of.

She enrolled at the College of Civil Engineering in Aleppo, where her mother used to visit her from time to time. She graduated in 2009 and a new phase began in Hevrin's life.

The martyr Hevrin was under surveillance of the security branches due to her activities and attachment to the thought and philosophy of the leader and from the families of the martyrs.

She was questioned by the security branches in Dêrik on an almost daily basis, and her name was placed on the list of names dangerous to state security. Her family paid huge sums of money to get a job.

Then Hevrin participated actively the revolution of the NE Syria on July 19, 2012 and undertook the organization and awareness of the young group during her accession to the Nuri Dersami Foundation for Thought, and then the organization of civil society institutions.

In 2014, with the formation of Democratic Autonomous Administration bodies in the Al-Jazira region, Hevrin became the deputy of the Energy Authority. In 2015, she was elected as the Co-chair of the Economic Authority and played a major role in laying its foundations.

'she believed in the political option for the Syrian crisis'

In the early 2018, she engaged in political work with a group of Syrian patriots, with all their components, to form an inclusive party for all Syrians.

When the founding conference of the Future Syria Party was held in the city of Al-Raqqa in the presence of Arab, Kurdish and Syriac political blocs, tribal sheikhs in northern Syria, and party members, on March 27, 2018, she was elected as the party’s general secretary for her active role in founding the party, to live up to the ambition of all Syrians.

After the conference, she left an imprint on Arab women in the Arab-populated areas. Soon, they joined the work affected by the personality of the martyr Hevrin.

After a period of work and organization, the Democratic Autonomous Administration was declared on January 21.

Havrin believed in the political solution for Syrian crisis, as she always said in her meetings that the best solution to the Syrian crisis lies in the Syrian-Syrian dialogue and people right of the self-rule.

Havrin continued her political struggle and had communication with all groups of society and political parties, in order to solve the Syrian crisis politically to end the bloodshed of Syrians.

With the attacks of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries sarted on all regions of the NE Syria on October 9, 2019 to strike the stability of the region. On October 11th, friday of that year, they were heading on the international road to the city of Qamishlo, she was brutally targeted by the mercenaries of the Turkish occupation and rose to the rank of martyrdom, and her martyrdom was officially announced by the Council of Martyrs' Families on the 12th of October.

Throughout the years of the revolution, Khalaf did not get tired of struggle in the most difficult circumstances until she became a model for all women.

And her martyrdom shocked the world, especially women, because she represented the free woman who sought to solve the Syrian crisis by peaceful means.

Activities to record her case in international courts

Many activities were organized at the level of NE Syria and the world, to denounce this brutality that targeted the Kurdish politician Hevrin Khalaf.

Among them is the campaign launched by the Center for Research and Protection of Women's Rights in Syria to collect signatures under the slogan "Justice for Havrin Khalaf", and its call for all civil organizations and political and human rights figures to respond to the call and sign the petition that will be submitted to the concerned authorities to investigate her file.

A committee was formed to investigate her assassination and refer the perpetrators to international courts for war crimes in NE Syria, especially against women.

The Association for Women's Rights in Development (AWID) also included the names of many Arab, Amazigh and Kurdish women within the "Feminist Hope Archive", in honor and commemoration of the memory of women who changed our world, left and left a living archive of hope.

One of the late feminist activists was the Secretary General of the Future Syria Party, Havrin Khalaf, who was working for a democratic, pluralistic and decentralized Syria that sought to promote equality between women and men and to guarantee the rights and freedom of all women of all ethnicities.

The municipality of Barcetoyê of the Italian city of Parma named Hevrin Khalaf on a bridge over the Bared River (Río Revo Freddy), and on both sides, hang her pictures which read: “She fought for women's rights, died of treason”.

Her mother keeps every detail of her life in her room

Her mother converted her room into a museum by keeping her belongings, clothes, and even pens and notebooks on which her diaries were written and events of the July 19 revolution, in addition to her library of books, certificates, equipment and engineering.

On the first anniversary of the announcement of her martyrdom, which falls on October 12, our agency conducted a meeting with her mother, who said: “Hevrin's birth gave the family joy and happiness after four males, so it had a characteristic among its members.” And for people's love for this flower, until the love of the jasmine flower matures with it, to choose the jasmine flower to be the symbol of the flag of the party that I founded.

Suad said, "I preferred the martyr Hevrin to all my children for her tenderness, calmness, and sense of responsibility."

She added, "Hevrin liked to be outstanding, so all members of the family would fulfill her requests. During her elementary school I tailored her clothes with my own hands."

'Hevrin's soul is immortal in her mother's memory'

Martyr Hevrin's soul is still immortal for her mother, her laughter and voice drawn in her memory, as she was her mother's companion for thirty-six years, so her martyrdom had a great impact on her.

At the end of her speech, she said, “I pledge to complete my daughter’s path and my companion to deliver her case to international forums to prosecute the perpetrators who committed a war crime against my daughter, even though she was a politician calling for a violance''

"A woman will reach her ambition when she trusts her personality."

For her part, Nisreen Muhammad Sharif, one of the founders of the Future Syria Party who accompanied the martyr Hevrin Khalaf, said: "The news of Hevrin's death fell like a thunderbolt in our ears, because she was fighting to ensure women's rights."

Muhammad indicated that Hevrin always said that a woman will reach their goals and ambition when they trust themselves.

She added, "Martyr Hevrin became a role model for all the women who accompanied her. She was loved by everyone for her calm, gentleness, and good treatment."

At the end of her speech, Muhammad Sharif said: “The Turkish occupation and its mercenaries aim to end the role and struggle of women, by targeting political figures such as the martyr Hevrin and other women who are fighting for the liberation of women, so we pledge to follow in the footsteps of the martyr Hevrin in achieving her goal and establishing a democratic, decentralized pluralism Syria that recognizes women's rights. "

The Center for Research and Protection of Women's Rights adopted the case of the martyr Hevrin and all the cases related to women to present the perpetrators to the courts and try them according to the laws stipulated in international law.

In this context, she spoke to our administrative agency, Mizgin Hassan, at the Center for Research and Protection of Women's Rights, and said: “There are persistent attempts to defend the case of the martyr Hevrin in international and European forums, because some lawyers have adopted her case, in addition to the presence of some lawyers working to deliver this case to International courts. "

"The mother of the martyr Hevrin traveled to Europe, and it took more than seven months for the European Court to adopt the case of the assassination of the martyr Hevrin," Mizgin said.

And she continued: "Those who assassinated the martyr Hevrin are known to everyone, and they are the mercenaries of Ahrar Al-Sharqiya, as they were dissolved by the Turkish occupation for not being held accountable for this brutal massacre committed against the martyr Hevrin.

At the end of her speech, Hassan said: “The Research Center and the Protection of Women's Rights carried out a signatures collection campaign, which was signed by nearly 500 lawyers and civil, international and local organizations, as a letter to the Criminal Court to hold these criminals accountable, and our center will assist all parties to demonstrate justice.

The mother who shook her daughter’s cradle and grew up to the tune of folkloric songs that express the mother’s pain, and called for her only daughter’s inheritance, with those songs with thousands of people from north and east Syria, to her final resting place with a member of the Future Syria Party, Farhad Ramadan, and buried in the martyr Khabat shrine on October 13, 2017.
