KRP declares its solidarity with Armenian people, calls to deter Turkey

The Kurdistan Republican Party - Syria declared its solidarity with the Armenian and Kurdish people in Armenia, and affirmed that they will stand in the face of the blatant Azerbaijani aggression directly supported by the Turkish regime, and appealed to the United Nations, the Security Council and all international organizations to quickly intervene to deter Turkey and withdraw its forces and mercenaries from Afrin, Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî.

Today, the Kurdistan Republican Party - Syria organized a protest stand in front of the United Nations building in the city of Qamishlo, in which dozens of party members participated in solidarity with the Armenian and Kurdish people in Armenia, condemning the Azerbaijani attacks on the (Nagorny Karabakh - Red Kurdistan) region supported by Turkey, and to denounce the Turkish attacks on the northern and eastern regions of Syria.

The participants in the protest stand raised banners with "We demand air protection from the international coalition of Rojava Kurdistan," "No to the systematic killing against the Kurds," "We condemn and denounce the practices against our people in Serêkaniyê," and "We stand in solidarity with the Kurdish and Armenian peoples in Armenia to confront the aggression" written on.

During the protest stand, a statement was read by the Co-Chair of the secretariat of the Kurdistan Republican Party - Syria Dawood, which stated: "Since the overthrow of (Red Kurdistan) on April 8, 1929 in Nagorny Karabakh, this region has witnessed a bloody conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia, which resulted in the destruction of the region and the displacement of its Kurdish population which reached 72%, by the state of Azerbaijan which has worked for decades to implement the policy of transforming this region into a battleground for conflict and destruction, changing its cultural and national identity, and occupying it."

The statement indicated that during the year 1991, the state of Armenia regained this region, and the Kurdish Republic of Lujain was established in 1992; however, the Azerbaijani movement towards the destruction of the region did not stop, and this region became an open conflict and war zone.

What is happening today is a new episode that threatens stability and peace

The statement affirmed: "At every stage, this region witnesses an Azerbaijani movement to destabilize security and stability, and restart the rifle barrel, supported by the Turkish regimes, which in turn mastered with the beginning of the twentieth century in the liquidation of Armenians, Kurds, Syriacs and Assyrians and committing massacres against them, and what is happening these days of renewed aggression by the Azerbaijani regime with the direct support of the Turkish regime, it is nothing but a new episode that threatens stability and peace."

The statement noted that the mentality of the Turkish and Iranian regimes in fighting the peoples of the region, including the Kurds, Armenians, Syriacs and Arabs, as well as the Syrian regime which in turn threatens the components of Rojava and northeastern Syria and continues to deny the legitimate rights of the Kurdish people who live on their historical land is dangerous, and stated: "These regimes has become a major threat to the future of the Middle East, and this requires an international stand alongside human rights, humanitarian organizations and major countries to stop the expansion of this authoritarian and despotic mentality thirsty for murder and blood."

The Turkish state aims to ignite wars and create trouble spots

The statement noted that in the Kurdistan Republican Party - Syria, they declare their joining and solidarity with the Armenian and Kurdish people in Armenia, and that they will stand in the face of the blatant Azerbaijani aggression directly supported by the Turkish regime, and explained: "The Turkish state aims to ignite wars and create trouble spots seeking to revive the Ottoman Sultanate at the expense of peoples' freedom."

The statement of the Kurdistan Republican Party - Syria made clear: "The Nagorny Karabakh region is historically Armenian land, and the majority of its inhabitants are the Kurdish people who lived in safety under the Armenian regime over the past years, until the authority in Azerbaijan claimed that Nagorny Karabakh is an Azerbaijani land in clear defiance for international law that considers border areas as safe areas, and since Nagorny Karabakh is a border area between two states, it must be safe, and any dispute over it must be through international courts specialized in these cases."

The Kurdistan Republican Party - Syria, through the statement, expressed its support for the Armenian state and the Kurdish people in Armenia, and appealed to the United Nations, the Security Council and all international organizations to quickly intervene to deter Turkey, and demanded the immediate withdrawal of the Turkish occupation forces and their mercenaries from Afrin, Serêkaniyê and Girê Spî.
