Trump said that he and his wife Melania will be quarantined at the White House after they were infected with the Corona virus, which causes the Covid-19 epidemic.

In the same context, the White House said that the US President will continue to perform his duties during the quarantine in the White House.

On Thursday evening, the US President had said that he would subject himself to a quarantine pending the release of the results of his Covid-19 test, after the Corona test result of one of his close advisors came out positive.

"The first lady and I are waiting for our test results," Trump wrote on Twitter, adding, "In the meantime, we will start quarantine," without specifying how long he will remain in quarantine, at a time when public health experts recommend a period of up to 14 days.

Trump confirmed through "Fox News" that the results of the Covid-19 test for his close advisor Hope Hicks were positive, and said, "I just took a test, we'll see, who knows?"

"She works hard, often puts on a mask, but she tests positive," he added, speaking of Hicks, noting that he spends "a long time with Hope just like the first lady."

Hope Hicks was on Air Force One with the US President when he traveled to Cleveland, Ohio, on Tuesday, to participate in the debate with Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden, and traveled with him on Wednesday when he visited Minnesota at a rally.
