QAMISHLO - ISSAM ABDULLAH

The Turkish occupation army has intensified its attacks on the areas of Başûr Kurdistan since June 16, systematically targeting the populated areas, in addition to installing military bases, displacing the population and looting their properties with the aim of expanding its occupation and extending its influence in the region, amid regional and international silence.

On the Turkish fascist attacks and the silence of Başûr Kurdistan government and the Iraqi government, our agency conducted an interview with the writer Melvan Rasoul, and he said: "The ferocious attacks of the Turkish state on the sites of the People's Defense Forces (HPG) are not the first and will not be the last because the mentality of the Turkish state is based on exclusion, killing and destruction."

Rasoul added: "The Turkish state has its problem in its entity, and the political logic of the ruling class in Turkey still thinks that the entire region is under its protection and that the peoples who live in this region should follow it, and considers itself a guardian for all the peoples of the region, especially those that have suffered their share of devastation and destruction as a result of Turkish attacks."

Rasoul indicated that the Turkish state will be defeated in its attacks on Heftanin thanks to the great resistance shown by HPG, and the Turkish state will not learn from its experience throughout its war with HPG, and he said: "The Turkish state, with this approach, will not gain anything but disappointment."

Rasoul indicated that the region in which these clashes are breaking out is southern Kurdistan and there is a legitimate government, in addition to the central state (the Iraqi government), but its positions are shameful and shy, and the silence of the Kurdish forces is also intolerable.

Rasoul noted that the governments of the Region and Iraq are fragile and are unable to take a specific decision regarding the attacks on the people, adding that the Kurdistan Democratic Party that runs the Region's government cannot condemn or reject any request for Turkey because it owes loyalty to the Turkish state and this is known to everyone.

Rasoul drew attention to the fact that the Turkish state has been launching attacks on southern Kurdistan since years, and the Democratic Party has not shown any firm stance towards these attacks until now, and he said: "This is an irresponsible position." he indicated that the Kurdish national interest is higher than partisan accounts, and these positions are shy and rejected by all standards.

Rasoul said: "The political elite is blamed for the partisan class, but society consists of multiple segments, including unions, social personalities, and community, religious activities, and I particularly mention the educated class and writers who bear burden more equal to the Kurdish parties' responsibility in confronting these attacks."

Rasoul noted: "We do not say that the educated take up arms, but the weapons they possess are no less solemn and fearful. They have to expose the Turkish policy and take firm stances towards it, revive society, and convey the tragedy of the Kurdish people to the global community and international institutions, and this is the duty of every educated about their cause and people."

The Kurdish people are united in their hopes, aspirations, pains and sorrows

Rasoul noted that the national unity is a strategic necessity not tactical, and he said: "As a society and an integrated nation divided by the colonizer, our cause is one, the issue of people and homeland. The Kurdish unity exists, but the Kurdish parties must unify their ranks because the Kurdish people are united in their hopes, aspirations, pains and sorrows."

Rasoul explained that the attempt has been going on for twenty-five years to hold a Kurdish national conference, and it is an urgent necessity that must be agreed upon, adding that he does not call for the unity of the parties, but rather for the unity of positions, coordination and general principles agreed upon by the Kurds in all parts because the national constants cannot be exceeded.

Rasoul pointed out that the state of dispersion benefits the occupiers, by which they dilute and abuse the Kurdish movements and pass their agendas and policies. He said: "The stage is crucial at this time because we are on the threshold of a new phase after 2023 for a new political map in the Middle East region."

Rasoul added that all countries are trying to stabilize their sites, especially in the areas they occupied, so in this scattered way, we cannot influence the world powers, especially the Rojava revolution, which had a wide global resonance, and the Kurds became a difficult number in the equation that is reckoned with.

Rasoul called on all political forces and the revolutionary and societal movement to hold a Kurdish national conference and agree on national constants.
