​​​​​​​Turkish mercenaries continue to kidnap Afrin people

The human rights organization Afrin - Syria documented a new series of kidnappings of civilians in Afrin by mercenaries of the Turkish occupation, which included 16 people.

The organization confirmed that the mercenaries continue kidnapping civilians from the people of Afrin and blackmailing their families for a ransom.

The kidnapping campaign on 8/15-2020 this time affected the Arab Sheikho village in Afrin,  by the so-called "Military Police" of the Turkish occupation, and the charge is joining the Civil Popular Forces during the Autonomous Administration period."

According to what the organization, 16 citizens from the Arab Sheikho village of Maabatli district, two kilometers from the town of Medanaki, were kidnapped. Among the names of those identified are: “1- Hassan Muhammad Ayyub, 2- Jamal Abdo Aboush, 3- Ali Abdo Aboush, 4- Muhammad Abdo Aboush, 5- Fuad Abd Muhammad," While the identity of the left is unknown.

The organization indicated, citing sources from Afrin, that the mercenaries demanded the families of the kidnappers for a ransom of 300 to 500 Turkish liras and that the people were forced to pay the sum and released all the kidnapped, while the kidnapping campaign continues in the villages of Maabatli district.
