The Crisis Cell of the Autonomous Administration of the North and East of Syria seeks to curb the Coronavirus. It has managed, through several precautionary measures to control the situation for a long time; However, the indifference by the Syrian government, lack of cooperation with the CC and non-stopping flights from the capital Damascus to Qamishlo airport contributed to the situation getting out of control. In April two cases of Coronavirus infection were recorded, and they recovered.

On July 23, the CC announced that 4 cases of the virus in Al-Jazeera region, and confirmed that the infections are the result of the arrival of an infected person from the Syrian capital, Damascus, and the number of cases has increased and has so far reached 30. According to the Health Authority, the status of the infected is stable.

The Co-chair of the Health Authority in NE Syria, Mustafa explained that the main reason for the entry of the virus is Qamishlo Airport, and he said: "Despite our intensive attempts to place Qamishlo Airport under health supervision, and to conduct medical examinations for arrivals to the northeast of Syria and quarantining the suspected cases , but the regime's failure to cooperate thwarted these attempts.

All the infected cases health in health centers is stable

Mustafa stressed that the Crisis Cell will take new and strict decisions to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus, including quarantining all those infected.

Also, one of the measures taken by the AANES is the construction of dozens of quarantine centers in most areas, and they are equipped with the available medical supplies.

He stressed that the current stage is a dangerous stage, and the general public should be aware of the seriousness of the situation. He said: "The virus is spreading among us significantly day after day, and all people must adhere to the necessary precautionary measures."

And he indicated that their capabilities are limited, amid the failure of the World Health Organization, which has not yet provided any medical assistance to combat the Coronavirus.
