The delegations of the Kurdish National Unity parties and the Kurdish National Council (ENKS) announced at the conclusion of the first phase of the negotiations for the unity of the Kurdish rank, reaching a binding common political vision and reaching preliminary understandings.

The first stage meetings concluded between the two parties on June 16, 2020, and the two parties reached a binding joint political vision, initial understandings, and the 2014 Duhok agreement on governance and partnership in management, protection and defense as a basis for continuing the ongoing dialogue and negotiations between the two delegations with the aim of reaching a signature of a comprehensive agreement in the near future.

The Kurdish Street perceived the Kurdish-Kurdish rapprochement as "positive", and it was met with great joy and interest from all the Kurdish people.

The head of the Kurdish Tribes Council in Al-Hasakah Akram Haj Ibrahim told the Hawar News Agency that the success of the first step of the Kurdish-Kurdish dialogue was very good. He said, "We wish the success of the remaining stages, because all the Kurdish people wish this unity."

Everyone worked for the unity

Akram Haj Ibrahim noted that the Kurdish tribes have been working for 6 years to build this step in the Kurdish rapprochement. He continued, "We are the Council of the Kurdish Tribes, and for six years we have been seeking to build such a step, and the Kurdish National Council and the Democratic Union Party have sat at one table of dialogue."

Ibrahim indicated that the success of this stage is due to efforts of the Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, Commander Abdullah Ocalan and the head of the Democratic Party, Masoud Barzani, in addition to all the Kurdish parties that sought to make the first phase successful.

He added, "We, the Kurdish tribes, will work for the success of the remaining steps, and to stand by all the Kurdish parties by all means, because the Kurdish people are one people and their fate is one, we demanded to reach a solution to the Kurdish issue."

Akram Haj Ibrahim indicated that the Kurdish parties in general are required to show a spirit of responsibility and make concessions for the sake of the Kurdish interest.

Convergence serves all components and threats targeted to everyone

Ibrahim felt that the Kurdish rapprochement would benefit all components of northern and eastern Syria, as these components participated in all the stages that the region went through, and defended them against the various mercenary groups that tried to undermine the gains of the peoples of the region.

Akram Haj Ibrahim explained that the fate of all the Kurdish parties is one, and the greatest proof of this is Erdogan's threats to them, and dissatisfaction of the so-called "Syrian opposition" about this unity after its success in its first stage, and continued, "Turkey should not be allowed to occupy more because Erdogan is a criminal and interferes in the affairs of all countries. "

"The enemies of the Kurdish people are many and strong, and our friends are few, it is necessary to stand together and make the expected Kurdish unity successful," the head of the Kurdish Tribes Council in al-Hasakah said at the end of his speech.
