​​​​​​​Jurist: kidnapping by mercenaries in Afrin against international laws

In recent times, kidnappings and killings have increased in the areas of northern and eastern Syria occupied by Turkey, and brutality with the mercenaries of the occupying power has reached the kidnapping of women and placing them in secret prisons without revealing their fate.

In this regard, Hawar News Agency conducted a meeting with human rights defender Esmat Ibrahim, who said at the beginning of his speech that "Turkey did not occupy the regions of northern and eastern Syria to protect the rights of minorities, while entering the region with the mentality of the occupation by releasing its mercenaries in the occupied areas and giving their hands to commit crimes freely."

He added, "The kidnapping by the mercenaries of Turkey is against international laws and divine laws, and there is no provision in international law that allows this immoral act."

Ibrahim pointed out that "the recent kidnappings of women in the occupied city of Afrin, especially the video that was circulated on social media, showed naked women working against morals, and proves the extent of the mercenary's brutality."

A video clip appeared recently on social media, following the storming of settlers in Afrin by residents of Ghouta, at a mercenary prison in the occupied city of Afrin, and they were surprised by the presence of Kurdish women inside the prison.

The Kurdish rights lawyer noted that "the method of dealing with kidnapped women is inhumane and unacceptable in any way. The presence of that child in the detention with the kidnapped women is a crime in the fullest sense of the word."

He stressed the need to "file a lawsuit through human rights organizations to the International Criminal Court in the Hague against Turkey, as it is responsible for the massacres taking place, as well as Recep Tayyip Erdogan responsible and the Syrian coalition and every person who is being tightened at the hands of mercenaries is responsible for kidnappings and murders."

Ibrahim concluded his rights by saying that "every person must carry out his duty and take responsibility for what is happening and history has proven that everyone who carried out massacres received his punishment from the International Criminal Court."
