Turkey's attacks .. Why Şengal and at this time?

Şengal regions, Mexmûr refugee camp and the legitimate defense zones in Başûr (South Kurdistan) were attacked by the Turkish occupation’s warplanes on Sunday midnight as a continuation of its ongoing series of crimes against the Kurdish people.

ISIS was there

On the attacks, Kadar Bery, the Director of Kurds Without Borders Center said, “ISIS had controlled Şengal for a long period of time, why did not the Turkish army and its aircrafts bomb ISIS there? Why is the bombing now?”

Bery said in a statement to our agency: “Before now, Turkey bombed and maybe bomb in the future as well because ISIS, which Turkey used to support in order to implement its occupational plans over the whole region, was destroyed.”

There is always a timing for any Turkish event

On the timing of these attacks, Bery said: “There is always some timing for a barbaric Turkish event. Turkey is waiting for international consensus and contradictions, playing on the two ropes between East and West, and it targets everyone who stands in the face of its plans. Now, whoever stand in the face of the Turkish schemes and fail their policies in Syria are the Kurds and the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), and also in Iraq, they are part of Şengal Protection Forces. The Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) fighters there have thwarted ISIS and Turkey’s plans, so they constantly target them.”

He explained: “The timing cannot be limited for Turkey because it always targets all freedom fighters, everyone who demands equality inside and outside Turkey and everyone who wants democracy in the vicinity of Turkey because dictatorships and specifically Erdogan now aim at striking these areas in which democracy spread for fear that their enemy will be transferred to Turkey.”

He added: “Therefore, there will be no specific timing for an event, Turkey always takes advantage of all conditions everywhere, it takes advantage of local and international conditions, it cannot retreat inward because of its very bad conditions economically, politically, so it will continue to fight abroad and try to occupy other areas. We find them in Libya and attempts in Yemen, all this will be repeated. The timing is not important for Turkey, but most of its goal is to strike these troops.”

For what Turkey is planning?

On the Turkish plot, Bery sees: “The occupation of the entire region and the restoration of the Ottomans’ glories is what Erdogan and Turkey are planning for, and this is what they want. As the Ottoman Empire previously fought others with others, Turkey is doing so, as it fights the Libyans with the Syrians, and will use the Libyans and the Syrians in other regions, whether in Tunisia, Egypt, or any other place. These are the Turkish, old, new, Ottoman, Ataturkian and Erdoganian  policies which are the same and are still continuing.”

Arabs and Europeans must stand up to the Turkish excesses

Bery called on all forces demanding freedom and democracy in all countries of the world, not just the Kurds to stand up to Turkey and specifically the Arabs among them. He said: “The Arabs must act, the Arab countries, whether Egypt or the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the UAE must move with force to stop the Turkish excesses and attack. Now, perhaps is northern Iraq (South Kurdistan), but Turkey’s goals do not include only that region, but the entire regions that were previously under the control of the Ottoman Empire. They want to restore the glories of that country by controlling all the Arab countries through the terrorist Brotherhood’s organization, as they use this organization to implement their agendas and goals.”

He added: “Likewise, for Europeans, Erdogan's threats to Europe, specifically France directly, and threating them with refugees previously were through the gateway to Greece, and now from Libya directly, where there will be greater threats and danger to the Europeans, and they should be aware of this issue and move quickly.”
