​​​​​​​Malak Nabih’s family is under death threats by occupation mercenaries

The Human Rights Organization Afrin-Syria issued a written statement regarding the killing of the 16-year-old Malak Nabih. The text of the statement included the following:

“Next to our publications about the murder of the 16-year-old Kurdish girl Malak Nabih Khalil Jumaa from the village of Darwish in Shera district, through our monitoring and follow-up of the events of the matter and the communication with the sources at home, they reported that the gunmen of al-Nukhba Faction related to al-Sultan Morad Division which is loyal to the Turkish occupation and under direct instructions from the Turkish intelligence are trying in various ways to pressure the family of Malak Nabih Khalil Jumaa, especially her parents, and asked them to keep the news secret and not to communicate with anyone in this regard under the penalty of kidnapping and killing.

As the news about the girl Malak Nabih Khalil Jumaa killing published,  the faction’s gunmen told her family about the killing of the girl and taking her to Afrin city, Avrin Hospital, to identify the dead body of the murdered girl, but her mother saw the corpse of another girl, not her daughter’s, which led to the deterioration of her health after seeing the murdered corpse which is not her daughter’s without knowing the fate of her daughter, and without knowing any details about her death. Although the webpages loyal to the Turkish factions and intelligence confirmed the presence of the corpse in Azaz National Hospital and not in Afrin city, they quickly denied the news of Malak killing on the tongue of her family.

The sources also clarified that the situation of the girl Malak’s family is a very dangerous, preventing them from communicating with their relatives abroad and threatening them with death.

Hence it seems clear the fabrication of the news denying Malak killing on the tongue of her family as a result of pressure and the concealment of the news, as happened to hundreds of families who were subjected to beating, kidnapping, killing and rape.

We, as juristic organization in human rights’ field, appeal to all humanitarian and human rights organizations, especially the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights, UNICEF, the International Fact-Finding Committee and International Women’s organizations to play their moral and humanitarian role and to put pressure on the Turkish state to end its occupation of the Syrian territories in general and Afrin in particular, release all the detainees and kidnapped, especially women, and not to abuse the family of Malak Nabih Khalil Jumaa after it revealed the crimes of the Turkish occupation and the factions affiliated with it in Afrin, especially the crime committed against Malak Nabih Khalil, as any violation against the family is considered a moral and humanitarian responsibility. This is the main work of humanitarian and human rights organizations, in addition to Turkey’s withdrawal of all its forces from the Syrian territories as soon as possible, referring the perpetrators of crimes against civilians to the International Criminal Court so that they receive their punishment for committing crimes against the remaining Kurdish citizens in Afrin and other occupied regions, which amount to war crimes, crimes against humanity and ethnic cleansing in accordance with the four Geneva Conventions of 1949, the Rome Statute of 1998 and placing the region under international guardianship.”
