Violent clashes among mercenaries in Afrin, causing civilian casualties

Today, heavy armed fighting erupted in the occupied city of Afrin between the mercenaries of "Firqet al-Hamzat" on the one hand and the mercenaries from Eastern Ghouta’s displaced on the other, leaving some victims in among civilians.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, the fighting came after a mercenary group affiliated with "Firqet al-Hamzat" attempted to seize a shop belongs to a displaced citizen from Afrin, which was taken over by a displaced person from Arabin area in Eastern Ghouta, as he turned it into a food store, and after the latter refused to hand it over to al-Hamzat mercenaries, the mercenaries targeted the shop with a bomb to develop the matter and turn into clashes with machine guns between the sons of Eastern Ghouta with the support of some elements of Ahrar al-Sham Islamic Movement against the mercenaries of Firqet al-Hamzat near Rajo Street in Afrin city.

The fighting left at least 8 wounded, in addition to the killing of an armed man from Eastern Ghouta, while a child lost his life after being exposed to random gunfire during the clashes.

Furthermore, Afrin city is currently experiencing mobilization by the two sides, amid great public discontent.
