Residents of JIN WAR village take all precautions against Covid-19

In the light of the outbreak of the novel coronavirus in the world that claimed hundreds of thousands lives, JIN WAR village has its own prevention system founded before the pandemic. Nevertheless, the residents take all necessary precautions.

Roll with the punches in the village of JIN WAR, which means in Arabic as "women home" revolves around the same woman, as the women provide for their basic life needs themselves; they make bread, grow vegetables and fruit from the village orchards that women cultivate and take care of.

With the Coronavirus (Coved19) outbreak in the world, which has claimed hundreds of thousands of lives and infected more than 2 millions worldwide, JIN WAR women in Al-Derbasiya district of Al-Hasakeh canton have stepped up their prevention measures despite their own protection system in the village.

Shirin Mohamed, one of the village residents, said there is a special prevention system in place in for monitoring the movement of entry and exit, both for residents and visitors before the Coronavirus outbreak.

She stressed that with the emergence of the virus in neighboring countries, and as part of the followed precautions taken, going out was banned unless preventive measures such as masks and gloves followed, and any visitor to enter the village prevented without taking those measures into account.

Self-service was an appropriate solution for virus prevention

JIN WAR which gets all its own supplies of bread, vegetables and fruits and also manufactures hand-made household items along with clothing and home furnishings.

In addition, there is a special clinic in the village, which not only receives the village's patients, but also the patients from the nearby villages.

The clinic now receives patients after taking all preventive measures, in terms of sterilizing them and wearing masks and gloves, according to Hana Suleiman Khalaf, a worker at the village clinic.

khalaf points out that securing the needs within the village depending on the woman's own efforts, saves her going out to the crowded city, or mix with a large number of people to secure supplies.

Everyone protects himself/herself and others

Although no one enters or leaves the village. Therefore the possibility of communicating with infected people is zero. Nevertheless, JIN WAR women adhere to preventive measures against the emerging coronavirus like hand washing before and after any work, wearing masks and gloves when leaving the house.

The village's air is clean, and the houses are separated from each other several meters, but women still prefer social distancing while communicating or working in the field, Khalaf and Mohammed said.

JIN WAR construction began on March 10, 2017 and opened on November 25, on the Violence International Day against Women.

The 30-house village built of clay and includes the Jinwar Academy, school, Ashnan oven, our sister shop, Shifa Jin Clinic and livestock, where the residents of the village work in these centres, and services are provided to all residents of the village.
