Revolutionary Communist Movement: Akito gives us hope and renewal for a better future for our people

Today, April 1, is Akito Day, “The Syraic Assyrian New Year”, and this day, according to the Syriac culture, symbolizes the resurgence of life and the renewal of the earth.

On this occasion, the Revolutionary Communist Movement TKŞ issued a congratulatory statement, in which it said that Akito appears on the first of every April, celebrated by the peoples of Mesopotamia 6,770 years ago, being the oldest feast in the history of mankind.

The movement, through its statement, pointed out that the people which experienced many massacres through history preserves this holy day, to send hope and renewal towards a better future for the peoples of Rojava, North, East and Syria.

“We hope for a real, secular, democratic society based on justice, equality and human rights, in which the citizens can be fair and safe, and peace and brotherhood will prevail throughout the country.

At the end of its statement, the movement congratulated the Syriac and Assyrian peoples on this occasion, and wished that the new year would be a year full of achievements in order to achieve its national aspirations and goals.
