12,000 food baskets distributed to needy families in Raqqa

Because of the curfew conditions issued by the Autonomous Administration of northern and eastern Syria, and to help poor families, the Relief Office of the Raqqa Civil Council administratively distributed 12,000 food baskets to some parts of the city.

This is in implementation of the decision issued by the administration on the 29th of March, to distribute relief baskets to poor and needy families which depend in earning their livelihood on daily work in the seven self-administered civil and democratic administrations in northern and eastern Syria.

The baskets distributed to the residents include foodstuffs, and the distribution process is carried out in coordination with neighborhood communes, under the supervision of the Health Committee and the People's Municipality, and representatives of relief organizations.

The distribution process will continue for 4 days within the city's neighborhoods, and will then be distributed in the countryside as well.

The administrator of the Relief Office of the Civil Council of Raqqa Ahmed Al-Ahmad spoke about the mechanism for distributing aid and the reason for its timing. He said: "Today, we distributed the first batch of relief aid, through which we targeted poor and needy families."

He added: The distribution stages cover the entire neighborhoods of the city, and then the distribution will be made to the people in the city's countryside.
