Vladimir Jabbarov, a prominent member of the Russian parliament, has sent an implicit threat to Ankara.

Jabbarov, who is the first deputy head of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Supreme Council of Parliament, said: Any large-scale Turkish military operation in the Syrian Idlib region will have a bad end for Ankara itself.

Jabbarov added that Turkey was protecting terrorists in Idlib, and should stop it.

Turkey had recognized the death of 33 of its soldiers as a result of air strikes on Idlib, on Thursday, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the number of dead was 34.

Russia has blamed Turkey for the killing of its soldiers who were present among the mercenaries, and confirmed that the reason for the escalation in Idlib was the attempt to launch a mercenary attack on the Syrian regime forces.
