Thousands of displaced people mourn a civilian martyred while praying dawn in Turkish shelling

Manla was martyred yesterday in the shelling of Turkish-backed mercenary groups on the village of Akiba, in Sherawa district, in the occupied Afrin region.

An artillery shell that came out of the Turkish occupation areas, struck Manla's house while he was performing Fajr prayer and was martyred instantly.

Thousands of people from Afrin flocked to Avrin Hospital in Al-Shahba district to funeral the body of Ali Manla to his last resting place in the village of Akiba, in the district of Sherawa.

The solemn procession set off from Afrin Hospital, amidst the slogans that glorify the martyrs and salute the resistance of the people of Afrin.

When the mourners reached the public square in the village of Aqiba, they stopped for a minute of silence.

On behalf of the Martyrs’ Families Council, Khairy Ibrahim offered condolences to the families of the martyrs and denounced the attacks of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.

Ibrahim held "the international organizations responsible for their silence towards targeting civilians, by the Turkish occupation army and their mercenaries."

In turn, the co-chair of Sherawa District Council, Ahmed Suleiman, praised the resistance of "the people of Afrin and Shahba in the face of the Turkish occupation and the colonial powers that are trying to eliminate the Kurdish issue."

Suleiman indicated that the occupied Turkish state "seeks to undermine the will of the Kurdish people and commit massacres against them."

Suleiman added that "the countries that dominate their colonial policies are working to bring about demographic change and disperse the peoples of the region."

As for the member of Afrin Zalukh Bakr Provincial Council, she stressed the continued resistance and non-submission to the Turkish occupation.

Zaloukh noted that "the Turkish attack targeted citizen Ali Manla when he was performing Fajr prayer."

Zaloukh affirmed that "the resistance continues in Al-Shahba district and the villages of Sherawa district in the face of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries until the liberation of Afrin and expelling the occupation from it."

Then the martyr's document was read by the member of the Training Committee of the Democratic Society Zainab Ghobari.

Let the body of the martyr was buried in his final resting place in the shrine of the village of Aqiba, in the district of Sherawa.
