Displaced: Our situation here is better than wherever mercenaries, shelling are present

Displaced people from the occupied Serêkaniyê region demanded that the camp of Washo Kani be provided with tents, but they emphasized that living in the camp is better than living in a place occupied by Turkey and its mercenaries.

The Turkish attack with its mercenaries of the so-called so-called "Syrian National Army" has caused to displace more than 300,000 civilians from the areas of Serêkaniyê -Ras al-Ain / Girê Spî -Tal Abyad, and other border areas. Therefore, the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria in the city of al-Hasakah has allocated more than 64 centers to accommodate the displaced.

As a result of the large numbers of the displaced, which the shelter centers are no longer able to accommodate, the Autonomous Administration has established a Washo Kani camp west of the city center of Hasakah, inhabited by more than 6,500 displaced people.

About 150 displaced families lived in reception tents, and the camp administration and the Kurdish Red Crescent could not set up tents for these families.

Aisha Muhammad, a displaced woman from Serêkaniyê, said: “We were displaced from our homes because of the Turkish occupation of our city, at the beginning we were displaced to the village of al-Manajir, and because of the arrival of the Turkish aggression to the village of al-Manajir, and the continued bombardment, we were also displaced from it, and we headed towards the WashoKani camp.”

Displaced people need help

"For about ten days, my family and I have been living in the temporary tents," Aisha added. "Our situation is deplorable here. We need a lot of necessary supplies and heating materials."

As Ahmed Muhammed, displaced from the village of al-Dashisha in the town of Tal Tamr, said, "Our situation here is much better than a place where mercenaries are present and the continued shelling and injustice. All services are available to us according to the capabilities are being provided by AA, but there is a great shortage of heating materials."

Like other families still living in reception tents, Muhammad called for securing a tent for him and his family.

And like thousands of people from the displaced border areas, they also share their only demand, which is to live in safety and security, and return to their homes after taking out the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.

Due to the bad weather the tents had been not erected, as result the refugees settled in reception camps.
