The regime is 1 km from Maarat al-Numan; mercenaries launch an attack

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported that violent clashes erupted between the mercenary groups of Turkey on the one hand and the forces of the regime on the other hand, after an attack launched by the first on the positions of the latter in the axes of Al-Dulaim, Mishmis, and Barasah in the eastern countryside of Idlib, in an attempt by the mercenaries to advance after the accelerated collapse that they witnessed Areas in the countryside of Maarat al-Numan al-Sharqi.

Simultaneously, Russian planes bombed areas in Khan al-Asal in the western countryside of Aleppo, Kafr Hamra in the northern countryside of Aleppo, Saraqib, Khan al-Sabil, Mirdabsa, Jabal al-Zawiya, Maarat al-Numan in rural Idlib, and areas of Jabal al-Zawiya in southern Idlib countryside.

In a related context, the fighting continues between mercenaries on the one hand and the regime forces with air support from Russian aircraft on the other hand on the eastern axes of the city of Maarat al-Numan in Idlib countryside.

The regime forces are trying to advance towards Maarat al-Numan from the eastern side, after the regime forces were able to control, in the past hours, strategic areas in the east, namely: (Tlemans, Marashmash, Deir al-Sharqi, Deir al-Gharbi, Ma`arsmarin, Maratah, and al-Ghadfa), so that it is only a kilometer away on the road to Maarat al-Numan, in addition to other sites in the region.

In turn, the regime's SANA agency said: "Today, units of the Syrian army have cleared the village of al-Ghadfa from the terrorists, and are pursuing their remnants in the countryside of Maarat al-Numan in the southern Idlib countryside."

Regime forces are seeking to reach Maarat al-Numan and the international route M5 with Russian support, after Russia and Turkey announced a short-lived truce followed by a meeting of Turkey with mercenaries during which they informed them that Turkey could not persuade Russia to stop the attacks.
