​​​​​​​Saudi Arabia on Turkish intervention in Libya: a threat to Arab security

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the recent Turkish escalation in Libyan affairs and the approval of the Turkish Parliament to send military forces to Libya, and considered that the Turkish intervention was a violation of Security Council resolutions.

The Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement published by the Saudi Press Agency, "SPA": "The Kingdom confirms that this Turkish escalation constitutes a threat to security and stability in Libya and a threat to Arab and regional security ... as an interference in the internal affairs of an Arab country, in flagrant violation of international principles and covenants.

The Saudi statement comes at a time when Ankara intends to send Turkish forces to the territory of Libya, after the approval of the Turkish Parliament, and major opposition from regional and Arab countries.

Turkey has sent Syrian mercenaries to the territory of Libya to fight alongside Accord Government, as part of the agreement concluded by the Turkish state and Accord Government.
