Secretary of the Kurdish Democratic Party in Syria Nasreddin Ibrahim-in an interview with our agency- praised the initiative the leadership of the Syrian Democratic Forces launched to unify the Kurdish ranks in the north and east of Syria.

The Commander-in-Chief of the Syrian Democratic Forces, Mazloum Abdi, launched an initiative to unify the Kurdish ranks, following the Turkish attack on the northern and eastern regions of Syria, and the Autonomous Administration issued a statement, which included permission to the parties of the Kurdish National Council to undertake their activities without conditions, without the need for legal approvals, and also to drop all charges to the leaders of the council.

Nasreddin Ibrahim explained that the unity of the Kurdish position in Rojava is important and serves the interest of the Kurdish people wherever they are. He referred to all Kurdish forces and parties’ efforts to unify the ranks at this stage, which he described as "sensitive", and said: "By uniting our positions we can achieve the hopes and rights of the Kurdish people in Syria in the future."

The General Command of the SDF met with representatives of a number of Kurdish political parties recently, to reinforce the endeavors of the Kurdish unity, and the last meeting was on December 20, when the Commander-in-Chief of the SDF met Mazlum Abdi with representatives of the Kurdish Progressive Democratic Party in Syria, and the Kurdish National Council’s parties in Syria (which includes five parties), and the Kurdish Democratic Unity Party in Syria.

In this context, the Secretary of the Kurdish Democratic Party in Syria called on all Kurdish parties and forces to approach the initiative to unify the Kurdish class, with a national sense to serve the interests of the Kurdish people.

Nasreddin Ibrahim praised the gains made by the SDF and YPG during the years of the revolution, and said: "They are a national force, which has defended the land and protected the dignity of the people of the region."

Ibrahim stressed: "It is incumbent upon all of us to work for the Kurdish interest, and by the unity of our positions, at this stage we will be more powerful and determined against all attacks aimed at breaking our will and unity."
