Aisha Hesso: Syrian regime’s mentality led Turkey to occupy Syrian lands

Within the framework of a series of meetings held by the Democratic Union Party in al-Hasakah canton to discuss the situation in Syria in general and NE Syria in particular, a meeting was held on Monday for al-Hol district clans’ notables in theDistrict Council’s hall.

The meeting was attended by the co-chair of the Democratic Union Party, Aisha Hesso, a number of the district clans’ elders, the members of the institutions and the people of the district and its countryside.

During the meeting that started with a minute of silence, the joint head of the Democratic Union Party, Aisha Hesso, said: “When the project of the Autonomous Administration was proposed, the people of this homeland joined together to liberate all of their lands from ISIS mercenaries, and the blood of all the components was mixed for the sake of the homeland's freedom.”

Aisha added: “The Syrian regime is trying to create strives among the components of the region, despite the Autonomous Administration's insistence on the Syrian-Syrian dialogue because we are part of Syria, and our project is not separatist, but a democratic project that protects the rights of everybody.”

Aisha continued: "The people in Syria were deprived of the citizenship right, and the Popular Movement was only calling for democratic change, but the Syrian regime did not accept it, which led the Syrian revolution to the Turkish agenda.”

Aisha touched on the meeting of Ali Mamlouk with several Arab tribal elders in Qamishlo, and said: “Ali Mamlouk returned to his place empty-handed, by asking the clans’ elders to withdraw their sons from the Syrian Democratic Forces’ ranks because the response of the clans supported them and stressed solidarity with the Syrian Democratic Forces.”

At the end of her speech, the joint head of the Democratic Union Party Aisha Hesso demanded in the end of her speech to consolidate the project of the peoples of northern and eastern Syria, saying: “We must consolidate the concept of the democratic nation because we know that the Syrian citizen paid the price of the Syrian crisis, and that due to the mentality of the Syrian regime that does not accept the other.”

On their part, the attendees affirmed at the end of the meeting their support for the Syrian Democratic Forces, pointing out that the Turkish occupation targeted all the peoples of the region, stressing their rejection of the Turkish occupation and its mercenaries.
