The regime announces countering Israeli missiles over the countryside

The Syrian regime announced that its air defenses had responded to Israeli missiles targeting the Damascus countryside.

The Syrian regime's SANA agency reported that Israeli missiles landed in areas of Damascus countryside yesterday evening.

The agency declared that "the air defense media in the army confronted, at eleven o'clock at night, hostile missiles coming from the occupied territories, and that one of the hostile targets fell in the Aqraba area of Damascus countryside."

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, in turn, said that it heard at least three explosions that rocked the areas of the capital Damascus and its countryside, as a result of the regime's air defenses attacking missiles believed to be Israeli, which targeted regime forces and other Iranian sites in the vicinity of the capital, Damascus.

Israel has launched hundreds of rockets into Syria in recent years, saying it has targeted Iranian and Hezbollah forces.

The rate of strikes increased after the Russian-Israeli meetings that angered Iran, as Israel bombed areas in Syria, despite the presence of the Russian S-400 system.
