UN orgs are affected by international policies; do not aid the displaced

The Turkish attack and its mercenaries on the north and east of Syria have caused the displacement of more than 300,000 civilians, who have been deployed in camps and shelter schools, as an emergency, according to the Organization of Organizations Affairs in northern and eastern Syria.

The Autonomous Administration has opened the doors of schools to house them and provide the necessary relief assistance and their daily necessities, according to the limited local capabilities. Currently, 4,000 displaced families live in 110 shelter schools in al-Jazeera region.

"With the advent of winter, IDPs in shelter schools suffer from severe humanitarian conditions, as a result of the limited capabilities and assistance provided to them," said Khaled Ibrahim, co-chair of the Office of Organizations Affairs in al-Jazeera region.

Regarding the situation of the 86,000 students who were deprived of education, according to the Education Committee in Hasaka canton, Ibrahim said, "In order for education to continue in al-Jazeera region, and for students to return to schools, the Autonomous Administration has established the Washakani camp near the town of Twaina 12." Km to the west of Al-Hasakah district center, and we try as much as possible to send the displaced to the camp. "

The head of the Organizations Affairs Bureau, Khaled Ibrahim pointed out, "The United Nations organizations have not responded yet, and they have not provided any assistance to the displaced people in Washakani camp, despite repeated the administration’s appeals to support the displaced due to the Turkish aggression."

Ibrahim continued his speech in this context, "When we appeal to the United Nations organizations, the UN say we are linked to other policies and we cannot provide support to the internally displaced persons and their villages."

He added, "In cooperation with some local organizations and societies, the Autonomous Administration provides services to the displaced, amid complete disregard from humanitarian and international organizations."

Ibrahim noted that the administration is seeking to establish mobile homes (caravans) and provide them to the displaced people in the camp, and continued, "We are trying as much as possible to provide adequate services for the camp, and soon schools will be opened as well."

It should be noted that the number of Serekaniye and its villages’ IDP moving to Washukani camp west of Hasaka has become more than 800 families consisting of more than 4000 people.
