Member of Danish Parliament: We condemned Turkish invasion, demanded sending international forces for protecting borders

The member of the Danish Parliament, "Sunder Surin", who is on a visit to the region of northern and eastern Syria, explained that they condemned the Turkish invasion of the region, and demanded Turkey's withdrawal from the Syrian lands, noting that in the parliament, they asked for sending international forces under the auspices of the United Nations for protecting the Syrian-Turkish borders from any attacks.

This morning, a delegation from the "Danish Green-Red Democratic" bloc came through Semalka crossing to northern Syria on a visit to see the latest developments in the region after the Turkish attacks and invasion of it.

The visiting delegation which was headed by the Danish Parliament Member, Sunder Gard Surin, was received by the Joint Head of the Department of the External Relations Abdul Karim Omar, the Deputy Joint Presidency Abeer Elia, the member of the Administrative Body in the Department of Foreign Relations Abdul Rahman Salman, the responsible for the protocol in the External Relations of the Autonomous Administration Rania Khalil, at the headquarters of the Department of Foreign Relations in Qamishlo.

The delegation started the first day of its visit by meeting the Department of External Relations of the Autonomous Administration for Northern and Eastern Syria, to learn about the latest developments that happened in the region after the attacks of the Turkish occupation army and its mercenaries on the regions of northern and eastern Syria. The delegation will meet with representatives of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria tomorrow. The delegation is also going to meet political parties in the region on its schedule.

After ending the meetings that took place between the delegation and the Department of Foreign Relations, the member of the Danish Parliament, Sunder Gard Surin, answered some of the questions by journalists related to their visit to the region, and their stance regarding the Turkish invasion in the north and east of Syria.

Sunder Surin said: "My visit to this region is due to the recent Turkish invasion, and to see what the Turkish invasion caused in the areas that were attacked and other areas, as well as following up the refugee situations, difficulties and problems in the region."

Surin explained: "Concerning Erdogan’s continued threats to occupy more Syrian lands, we, as a parliament, condemned the Turkish invasion of northern and eastern Syria, demanded Turkey and those who support it to withdraw to their lands and asked for sending international forces under the supervision of the United Nations for protecting the Syrian-Turkish borders from any attacks."

Surin said relating to the Danish contribution to the German project to protect borders and form an international force: "The Danish government was very clear in condemning the Turkish invasion, and it is ready to send soldiers to this region and to support the German decision. For example, there is a proposal to send military doctors to help people in combat areas."

And the member of the Danish Parliament, Sunder Surin, continued his speech by saying: "Dispatch of any Danish military force to the region must be within the framework of the international legitimacy." He added that he did not represent the Danish government but his party, and represented the decision of the Danish parliament to condemn the Turkish invasion.

And Surin confirmed in the conclusion of his speech that the policy of the Danish government was clear towards the Turkish invasion and had condemned it, in addition to the fact that the Danish government decided not to sell weapons to Turkey, and said: "The decision of the Danish parliament was clear about Turkey's withdrawal from Rojava.”
