The Media Directorate of the Popular Mobilization Body said that large military reinforcements from the eighth brigade in the Popular Mobilization arrived yesterday, on the island of al-Hadar, south of Mosul.

The directorate said that the reinforcements were "to secure the borders with Syria from ISIS infiltration."

And added, "enormous military reinforcements arrived from the eighth brigade this afternoon to al-Hadar Island to reinforce the security forces south of Mosul."

According to PMF, there is intelligence information that indicates that there are large groups of terrorists on the Iraqi border with Syria intending to launch attacks against a number of security forces.

These moves to PMF come after Israel in recent days has escalated its tone towards the Iranian presence in Syria.

On Sunday morning, the Israeli Minister of Defense, Naftali Bennett, launched a violent attack on Iran, vowing to turn Syria into a new Vietnam in relation to its forces deployed throughout this country, especially in the eastern part.

5 fighters loyal to Iran were killed in nightly raids in eastern Syria, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, on Sunday, without being able to determine who carried out the raids.

Late Saturday night, the strikes targeted sites of the Iranian and Iraqi forces affiliated with them in the eastern countryside of Deir-ez-Zor on the outskirts of the border city of al-Bukamal with Iraq.

During the past months, Iraq witnessed an air attack on the positions of forces loyal to Iran, and the Iraqi protests were accompanied by events, the most prominent of which was the targeting of the headquarters of the Sadrist leader Muqtada Al-Sadr, in addition to targeting the American and Balad al-Assad.
